The Holosun Ronin HS507COMP is the Ronin series version of Holosun open reflex competition sight, and it is the one most shops leave off the label. Ronin models carry the same optical package as the standard line with a distinct engraved housing, and this one is the red emitter with the full Competition Reticle System. The Holosun Ronin HS507COMP Competition Reticle System
Most dots give you one reticle, or at best a dot and a single circle. The Holosun Ronin HS507COMP gives you four. A 2 MOA dot on its own, then that dot inside an 8 MOA, 20 MOA or 32 MOA circle depending on what you are shooting. Tight circles for precision stages, wide circles for close targets where you want the eye pulled to centre fast.
That range is what the COMP name is about. A USPSA or Steel Challenge shooter changes what they need between a 7 yard array and a 35 yard plate, and swapping circle size takes a couple of button presses rather than a different optic. The emitter is red at 650 nanometres, which is the traditional choice and the one most competition shooters have trained their eye on.
Window and Adjustment
The viewing window measures 1.1 by 0.87 inches. That is a large window for a pistol optic, noticeably wider than a carry sized dot, and it is the reason a competition shooter can find the reticle on the draw without hunting for it. Adjustment runs 1 MOA per click with 30 MOA of travel in each direction.
Brightness has twelve settings in total: eight daylight levels and four night vision compatible levels. The bottom of that range matters more than people expect, because a dot that is too hot at an indoor match bleeds into a halo and hides the exact point you are aiming at.
Holosun rates the Holosun Ronin HS507COMP with Shake Awake, so the optic sleeps when the pistol sits still and wakes the instant it moves. That is what turns a 50,000 hour battery figure into something closer to permanent in practice, because the sight is only drawing current when it is actually in your hand.
Battery and Housing
Power comes from a single CR1632 rated at 50,000 hours on brightness setting 6. That is roughly five and a half years of continuous runtime, and the battery tray is a side loader, so you change it without pulling the optic off the slide and losing your zero.
The housing is 7075 T6 aluminium, hard anodised, rated IP67 for dust and water and tested to 5000G of shock. The whole sight weighs 1.7 ounces and measures 1.8 by 1.3 by 1.3 inches. The Ronin engraving on the side is the visual tell that separates this from the standard model.
Shooters pick the Holosun Ronin HS507COMP over the plain 507COMP for the finish and the engraving rather than any optical difference. The glass, the emitter and the reticle set are the same. If someone tells you the Ronin version shoots differently, it does not, and we would rather say so than sell you on a spec that is not there.
RMR Footprint Fitment
The Holosun Ronin HS507COMP uses the RMR mounting footprint, which is the most widely supported pattern in the pistol world. If your slide is cut for a Trijicon RMR it takes this sight directly, and if it is cut for something else there is almost certainly an adapter plate that gets you there. Picatinny mounts for rifles and shotguns are equally easy to source.
Because the Holosun Ronin HS507COMP sits on an open emitter housing, it is lighter and lower than an enclosed sight of the same window size. The tradeoff is the usual one: an open channel can collect rain or lint in a way a sealed tube cannot. For a range and match gun that is a non issue, and for a duty gun it is a decision worth making deliberately rather than by accident.
