Description
The Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot is the plainest way into a carry optic done properly: one 6 MOA red dot, a one ounce K footprint housing, IP67 and 5000G, and none of the features you would have to learn. Part HS407K-X2.

Which One In This Family Do You Actually Want
Holosun builds four closely related micro sights around the Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot and the differences matter more than the names suggest. Worth getting right before you spend anything.
The Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot is 6 MOA, red, dot only. The 407K in green is the same sight with a green emitter. The 507K in red adds a 32 MOA circle around a 2 MOA dot, and the 507K in green does the same in green.
So the choice is really two questions: do you want a circle to help find the dot, and does your usual background eat red or green. If the answer to the first is no, you are in the right place and there is no reason to pay for a reticle menu you will not open.
Six MOA Is Right For A Small Gun
The Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot goes on a micro compact pistol, the hardest gun in the safe to shoot well. Short sight radius, small grip, light slide, and usually the one you shoot least. Putting a fine 2 MOA reticle on it optimises the wrong variable.
Six MOA covers an inch and a half at twenty five yards, which is well inside anything that matters at defensive distance, and it is far quicker to pick up on a draw from concealment. The dot on the Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot is sized for a gun that gets presented under stress rather than shot from a bench, and that is the honest use case for a pistol this size.
Ten Daylight Settings And Two For Night Vision
The brightness split on the Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot is ten daylight steps and two night vision steps, rather than the eight and four used across most of the Holosun range.
Ten steps in daylight means finer control where you actually live. Most shooters run a dot brighter than they need, which blooms a 6 MOA reticle into something closer to nine and costs you precision you did not have to give away. More steps means you can land on the setting that makes the dot clearly visible and no brighter, instead of settling for the nearest one.
One Ounce Above The Bore
The Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot weighs one ounce in a body of 1.6 by 0.98 by 0.95 inches. On a full size pistol half an ounce either way is academic. On a micro compact it is not.
A small gun has less mass to soak up recoil and a shorter slide to do it with, so weight added high up changes how the pistol tracks between shots. The lighter the sight, the less it disturbs a gun that is already difficult. The housing is 7075 T6 aluminum, anodized, rated IP67 for dust and immersion and tested to 5000G, so the ounce is not bought by making it fragile.
Shake Awake, Lock Mode And A Side Tray
Shake Awake sleeps the Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot when the pistol sits still and wakes it the moment the gun moves, which is how a CR1632 reaches 50,000 hours at brightness setting six. On a gun that is carried daily and shot occasionally, that is the difference between a sight you maintain and one you simply own.
Lock mode disables the buttons so a holster, a seatbelt or a car seat cannot quietly change your brightness. And the battery tray loads from the side, so a fresh cell in the Holosun HS407K X2 Red Dot never means unbolting the optic, never disturbs the mounting screws, and never puts your zero in question.

- Anyone shooting against neutral or cool backgrounds where red holds up fine
Check The Footprint Before You Order
Micro compact slide cuts are less standardised than full size ones. Confirm your pistol is cut for a K or RMSC pattern, or plan on the correct adapter plate. Manufacturer specifications are published at Holosun.
One caution if you check that page: its headline currently says 2 MOA while Holosun own specification table, and every barcode listing including ours, says 6 MOA. Six is correct. We are a family owned FFL dealer in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and we would rather point that out than have you order on a typo.
