Description
The Holosun HM6X 6X Magnifier turns a red dot into a 6x sighting system for positive identification and longer shots, then flips out of the way when you need a fast 1x view again. It is double the power of a typical 3x magnifier, aimed at shooters who regularly work past 200 yards with a red dot rifle.

Holosun HM6X 6X Magnifier Overview
Holosun lists the HM6X at 4.33 by 1.8 by 2.5 inches and 11.6 ounces with its quick-detach mount. Eye relief is 65mm, the field of view is 3.7 degrees and the exit pupil is 4.6mm. A diopter adjusts plus or minus 3 so the target and reticle look sharp for your eyes, and the 7075-T6 aluminum housing is anodized black and sealed for weather.
6X vs 3X
Six power shows much more detail at distance than a 3x, which helps you identify targets and spot hits at 300 yards and beyond. The cost is a narrower field of view, less forgiving eye position and more weight. Inside 100 yards a 3x is easier to use, so think about where you actually shoot. Many hunters and precision-minded AR owners find 6x the more useful choice.

Working With Your Red Dot
A magnifier enlarges the scene and your dot together, so zero does not change. A 2 MOA dot looks bigger relative to the target at 6x, and large circles cover a lot of target, so a plain small dot works best behind this unit. Shooters with astigmatism will see any dot distortion magnified too.
Mount and Height
The ambidextrous QD mount swings flip-to-side to clear your sight line and clamps to any Picatinny rail. It sits at absolute co-witness height out of the box, and the included lower 1/3 spacer raises it for taller dots. Match the magnifier height to your red dot so the optical centers line up, and confirm the flip direction clears your charging handle.

Weather and Durability
The housing is nitrogen purged to resist internal fogging, rated IP67 for submersion and tested to 1000G of vibration. Keep lens covers on in rain and snow, since water on the eyepiece will blur a 6x image quickly. The aluminum body handles recoil from 5.56, .308 and shotgun loads without issue.
Downsides
At almost 12 ounces, the HM6X adds real weight to the rear of a rifle, and combined with a red dot it can approach the weight of a low-power variable optic. If you mainly shoot inside 150 yards, the lighter HM3X is the better match. If you want reach with the speed of a red dot on demand, this is a strong option.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
