Description
The Holosun HE530G-GR Titanium Green Dot is a 30mm tube red dot with a titanium body, a green Multi-Reticle System and a quick-detach mount set for absolute co-witness. It is Holosun’s answer for shooters who want a bigger window than a micro dot and a housing that stands up to real abuse.
Holosun HE530G-GR Titanium Green Dot Overview
The main tube is a 30mm design with a 1.18 inch clear aperture, roughly 50 percent larger than most micro dots, which makes it easier to find the reticle when your head position is not perfect. Holosun machines the body from grade 5 titanium and rotating flip caps protect both lenses. Overall dimensions are 3.22 by 1.9 by 1.77 inches and Holosun lists 6.56 ounces with the mount. The 540nm green LED is crisp and bright in daylight.
Reticle Choices
The Multi-Reticle System offers a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or both together. The circle-dot is ideal for fast shooting on a home-defense AR or a slug or turkey shotgun, because the ring frames the target and leads your eye to center. The 2 MOA dot by itself lets you shoot tight groups at 100 yards and beyond on a precise carbine. The sight remembers your last reticle and brightness setting.
Brightness and Power
This model has 10 daylight settings and 2 night vision settings, plus an automatic mode that adjusts to ambient light. Battery life is rated at 50,000 hours at setting 6, and Shake Awake switches the LED off when the rifle is still and back on the moment it moves. The battery sits in a side tray, so it can be replaced without removing the sight from the rail or disturbing zero.
Mount and Co-Witness
The included quick-detach lever mount places the optic at 1.41 inches, the right height for an absolute co-witness with standard AR-15 iron sights. That means your irons line up directly with the dot. Some shooters prefer a taller lower 1/3 setup for a more heads-up posture; that requires an aftermarket riser. Adjustments are 0.5 MOA per click with plus or minus 50 MOA of travel.
Titanium vs Aluminum
Most red dots in this size use 7075 aluminum, which is strong and light. Titanium is tougher against dents and impacts and resists corrosion better, which is why the 530G costs more than aluminum siblings like the 503 and 510 series. For a truck gun, a duty rifle or any carbine that will be bumped against vehicles, door frames and rocks, that extra margin is worth having.
Downsides to Weigh
A 30mm tube with a titanium body is heavier than a micro dot, and on a lightweight AR build the extra ounces are noticeable at the front of the receiver. The absolute co-witness height can feel low for shooters who run an upright stance with plate carriers. Note that Holosun lists IPX8 in its spec table and IP68 elsewhere, so treat it as submersible but not a dive optic.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
