It costs more than the aluminium 507C and it earns that price in one specific way, which is worth understanding before you decide. Why Titanium on the Holosun HE508T X2 Green
Titanium has a far better strength to weight ratio than aluminium and it does not gall or deform around mounting screws the way aluminium can after repeated remounting. On a pistol that gets its optic taken off and put back on, or on a duty gun that lives through years of being drawn, dropped and reholstered, that matters more than any figure on a spec sheet.
The tradeoff is weight. The Holosun HE508T X2 Green comes in at 2 ounces, which is heavier than the aluminium competition in the same size class. On a slide that is reciprocating several hundred times a range session, extra mass on top is not free. Whether it is worth it depends on how hard the gun works.
Holosun HE508T X2 Green Multi Reticle System
The Holosun HE508T X2 Green gives you three sight pictures from one optic. A 2 MOA dot alone for precision, a 32 MOA circle alone, or the circle and dot together for a fast close range pickup. Cycling between them takes a couple of button presses, so you can set it once for how you shoot and forget it.
The emitter is green at 540 nanometres, the wavelength human eyes are most sensitive to. In practice that means a green reticle looks brighter than a red one at the same power draw and stands out better against brown and green backgrounds. Shooters who struggle to pick up a red dot in daylight often find green solves it outright.
The window measures 0.63 by 0.91 inches. Adjustment on the Holosun HE508T X2 Green is 1 MOA per click with 50 MOA of travel in each direction, which is 20 MOA more than the 509T offers and one of the practical reasons to choose the 508T over its sibling.
Holosun HE508T X2 Green Solar Failsafe
A solar panel on the hood powers the reticle in good light and lets the sight keep working if the battery dies. The battery itself is a CR1632 rated at 50,000 hours on setting 6, and there are twelve brightness levels, eight for daylight and four for night vision. Between solar and that runtime, this is not an optic you have to think about.
RMR Footprint and Durability
The Holosun HE508T X2 Green uses the RMR footprint, the most widely supported pattern in the pistol world. If your slide is cut for a Trijicon RMR it takes this sight with the factory screws and no plate. That is a real advantage over the 509T, which uses a proprietary footprint and needs an adapter on most guns.
The housing is rated IP67 and tested to 5000G of shock. Dimensions are 1.78 by 1.15 by 1.15 inches. Shake Awake puts the sight to sleep when the pistol sits still and wakes it the moment it moves, and there is a brightness memory and a button lockout so a setting cannot be nudged in a holster.
One thing to be clear about: this is an open emitter design, not an enclosed one. The LED sits in an open channel, so lint and rain can reach it. If you carry daily in bad weather and that worries you, look at the enclosed EPS or 509T instead. If the gun is a range, competition or duty pistol that gets wiped down, it is a non issue.
Holosun builds the Holosun HE508T X2 Green as the titanium counterpart to the aluminium HE507C. Optics, reticle and solar panel are the same; the housing material and the resulting weight and durability are what differ. If you have been happy with a 507C but keep remounting it, the titanium body is the upgrade that actually changes something.
