Holosun EPS Core Red MRS Overview

Holosun part EPS-CORE-RD-MRS has a hard-anodized 6061 aluminum housing measuring 1.61 by 1.18 by 0.97 inches and weighing 1.4 ounces. Its 0.9 by 0.63 inch window is slightly wider than the EPS Carry, and glass at both ends seals the 650nm LED from lint, sweat and rain. Adjustments are 1.5 MOA per click with plus or minus 30 MOA of travel, standard for carry optics.

Circle-Dot for Carry

The MRS lets you choose a small center dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both together. The circle-dot is popular for concealed carry because the ring is easy to pick up during a hurried draw, even if the dot is not perfectly centered in the window, while the center dot keeps precise shots possible. Holosun lists the center dot as 2 MOA in its feature text and 3 MOA in its spec table; either is a fine carry size.

Solar Plus Battery

The battery slides out of a side tray, so it can be changed without removing the optic. Holosun rates life at up to 50,000 hours at setting 6, and a Solar Failsafe panel adds supplemental power in good light. Shake Awake puts the LED to sleep when the gun is still and wakes it as soon as it moves. A forward light sensor handles automatic brightness, with 8 daylight and 4 night vision manual settings as well.

Direct Mounting

The EPS Core mounts directly to the RMSc footprint used on many micro-compact optic-ready pistols, including SIG P365 variants and Springfield Hellcat OSP models. That means no adapter plate on those guns, keeping the optic low and the screw stack simple. Confirm your slide cut first, apply thread locker and torque to spec.

Where It Fits in the Line

The Core series uses 6061 aluminum rather than the 7075 found on the standard EPS, which helps keep the price down. For a typical carry gun, that difference is unlikely to matter. Compared with the single-dot EPS Core, this MRS version adds the circle reticle, solar backup and the automatic brightness sensor for a modest price increase.
