Henry Classic 22 Mag 16.5 Inch Rifle – Handsome Plinker

Description

The Henry Classic 22 Mag 16.5 Inch is a rifle chambered in 22 Mag with a 16.5-inch barrel and a 10+1 capacity. It has a Black receiver, an American Walnut stock, and Hooded Blade front and Fully Adj. Semi-Buckhorn rear sights.

Henry Classic 22 Mag 16.5 Inch Overview

Henry’s classic .22 lever action is one of the best-selling rimfire rifles in America, prized for its smooth action, light weight, and accuracy at a reasonable price. Henry builds its firearms in the USA and backs them with a strong warranty and well-regarded customer service.

Design and Features

This version uses a Round Blued Steel barrel measuring 16.5 inches with a 1:16 rate of twist. The receiver is finished in Black. The stock is American Walnut with a Straight Grip design. Extras include Large Loop Lever. For optics, the receiver offers 3/8″ Grooved Receiver.

Handling in the Field

Henry lever guns are light, slim, and balanced, so they carry easily in the woods and come up to the shoulder quickly. With a 10-round capacity you have plenty on hand for a day of hunting or plinking. Most Henry rifles load through a tube in the magazine, which is simple and safe: you never have to cycle live rounds through the action to unload.

Action and Trigger

The lever cycles smoothly with a short throw, and the trigger is crisp for a lever gun. The safety is a 1/4 cock (half-cock) design; Henry’s transfer bar system means the rifle will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.

Sights and Optics

It comes with Hooded Blade front and Fully Adj. Semi-Buckhorn rear sights. The receiver is set up for optics (3/8″ Grooved Receiver), so you can add a scope or red dot if you prefer.

The 22 Mag Cartridge

The 22 WMR gives noticeably more speed and energy than the 22 LR with very light recoil, great for small game and varmints.

Setup and Accessories

Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.

Ownership Tips

Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
