Grand Power Stribog SP9A3G Glock Mag Overview

The G in SP9A3G stands for Glock. Grand Power fitted the third-generation Stribog with a lower that accepts double-stack Glock 9mm magazines, the most common pistol magazines in the United States. If you already carry a Glock 17, 19, 34 or 45, the same magazines, from 17-round flush units to 33-round extended magazines and aftermarket drums, will run in this gun. Everything else matches the SP9A3: roller-delayed action, aluminum upper with full-length rail, side M-LOK slots, ambidextrous controls and a non-reciprocating charging handle.

Why Glock Magazines Matter

Proprietary carbine magazines are often the hidden cost of a pistol-caliber carbine. Glock-pattern magazines are inexpensive, sold almost everywhere and available in many capacities, so stocking up for training or storage costs less. Sharing magazines between your handgun and carbine also simplifies a home-defense setup. Some aftermarket magazines and drums are less reliable than factory Glock units, so test any brand with your carry ammunition before trusting it.

Roller-Delayed Operation

Like the other A3 models, the SP9A3G uses rollers to delay the bolt, which reduces felt recoil and bolt slap compared with simple blowback carbines. The result is a flatter-shooting gun that keeps a red dot on target during fast strings. The 8-inch barrel is threaded with a thread protector for muzzle devices. As with any roller-delayed design, keep the bolt clean and lubricated per the manual.

Brace, Sights and Rails

The SB Tactical side-folding brace stabilizes the pistol and folds away for storage. Flip-up front and rear sights sit on the top rail, which has ample room for a red dot or magnifier, and the bottom rail and side M-LOK slots take lights and handstops. The 2023 ATF brace rule was vacated by federal courts in 2024, but brace regulation has shifted repeatedly and states can differ, so stay current.

Magazine Well and Fit

Because the magazine well is shaped for Glock magazines, the grip-to-magazine angle and reload feel differ from the standard Stribog. Distributors disagree on how many magazines ship in the box, so confirm the count with us before ordering spares. Our store title previously called this a submachine pistol; it is a semi-automatic pistol that fires one round per trigger pull, like every firearm we sell.

Honest Caveats

Stribog parts and accessories are less common than those for Glock-based carbines such as the CMMG Banshee, and service usually goes through the importer. Resale value for a specialty import is less predictable. The pistol does not fit holsters and weighs about 5 pounds. Suppressors are NFA items that require an approved ATF Form 4 and state legality, and a vertical foregrip on a pistol can create an NFA item.

State Laws and Ownership

Braced pistols with threaded barrels and magazines outside the grip are banned or restricted in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Washington, Colorado and Delaware, which also restrict magazine capacity; 33-round magazines are illegal in many of those states. Pennsylvania has no assault weapon ban, and handgun sales go through a licensed dealer with a background check. Check your rules before ordering.
