Description
The Fusion Firearms NCOM-T 9mm is a clean, rail-free carry 1911 from Fusion’s Freedom Series. A short Defender slide rides on a full-size Commander frame, so you get a fast-handling barrel, a grip long enough for your whole hand and 10 rounds of 9mm in a slim, snag-resistant package.

Fusion Firearms NCOM-T 9mm Overview
Fusion Firearms builds its 1911s in Venice, Florida, and the NCOM-T is an all-steel pistol with no plastic parts. Its frame, slide and barrel are CNC machined from bar stock and gunsmith fitted for accuracy. The target-crowned chrome-moly bull barrel has an HD chrome finish and a 1-in-16 twist. The slide has front and rear cocking serrations, top serrations and a press-check cut, and the black oxide finish contrasts with premium red cocobolo grips. It weighs roughly 32.8 ounces without a magazine.
A Smooth Carry Profile
Without an accessory rail, the dust cover stays slim and the pistol fits a wider range of 1911 holsters made for short-slide Commander hybrids. The rounded butt on the frame and mainspring housing reduces printing, which matters because the grip is the part of a pistol most likely to show under clothing. If you want a weapon light, look at the railed NCOM-D instead; this model is meant for discreet everyday carry.
Barrel Length Note
Fusion lists the NCOM-T with a 3-inch Defender slide, while distributor listings describe a 3.25-inch barrel. Either way it is a short 1911, so expect a bit more muzzle flip and less velocity than a 5-inch Government model. Choose defensive ammunition that has been tested in short barrels, and practice follow-up shots.
Controls and Classic Features
The NCOM-T follows the original Colt Series 70 pattern without a firing pin block, which gives a crisp trigger but puts the emphasis on proper carry habits and a good holster. A commander ring hammer, beavertail grip safety, extended combat thumb safety and beveled magazine well round out the controls. The lowered and relieved ejection port and tuned power-style extractor help with reliable ejection.
Maintenance and Takedown
Like most short 1911s, it uses a bull barrel with a reverse plug guide rod rather than a barrel bushing, so field stripping takes a slightly different approach than a full-size 1911. Read the manual first. The black oxide finish needs a light coat of oil to resist rust, especially on a gun carried close to the body. Test any spare magazines, because 1911s can be sensitive to magazine quality.
Sights and Upgrades
Standard dovetail, Novak-compatible sight cuts mean night sights or a fiber-optic front are easy to install. Note that there is no optic cut, so a red dot would require custom slide work. Fusion supports the pistol with a limited lifetime warranty, and resale value is generally lower than for the biggest 1911 brands.
State Laws and Ownership
Some states maintain handgun rosters or require specific safety features that may exclude this pistol. The 10-round magazine meets most capacity limits. Check your state and local laws and ask your receiving FFL before ordering.
