• Match-grade accuracy and consistency
• Tight velocity spreads for predictable drop
• Quality brass cases and reliable primers
• Suited to competition and long-range practice

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 223 69gr Sierra MatchKing until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

The .223 Remington was introduced in 1964 and is closely related to the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge used in the AR-15 family of rifles. It is one of the most popular rifle cartridges in America for target shooting, training and varmint hunting, thanks to its mild recoil, flat trajectory and the huge variety of rifles chambered for it.
