Federal 17 HMR 17gr Speer TNT – Reliable .17 HMR Varmint Ammo, 2530 fps, 50 Rounds

Description

The Federal 17 HMR 17gr Speer TNT load is built for shooters who want more from their .17 HMR than typical factory ammunition delivers. Federal loads a 17 grain Speer TNT jacketed hollow point to a rated 2530 feet per second, producing about 242 foot-pounds of energy. The Speer TNT hollow point is designed for explosive expansion on small varmints, and the fast, flat-shooting 17 HMR makes precise hits easy out to about 150 yards.

Why Choose the Federal 17 HMR 17gr Speer TNT

• 17 grain Speer TNT jacketed hollow point
• Rated 2530 fps and about 242 ft-lbs
• Explosive expansion on small varmints
• Rimfire cartridge with very flat trajectory
• 50 rounds per box, item P770

Built for Varmints and Predators

• Flat trajectory for small, distant targets
• Rapid expansion on varmints and small predators
• Low noise and recoil compared to centerfire rounds
• Consistent accuracy shot after shot

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 17 HMR 17gr Speer TNT until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

The .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire was introduced in 2002 by necking down the .22 WMR case to .17 caliber. It quickly became a favorite for varmint hunters because it shoots much flatter than traditional rimfire cartridges while remaining quiet and inexpensive, making it ideal for prairie dogs, ground squirrels and other small pests out to about 150 yards.

Why Choose Federal 17 HMR Ammo

Varmint and predator hunters looking for 17 hmr varmint ammo want flat trajectories and rapid expansion. This Varmint and Predator Speer TNT load from Federal is built for exactly that kind of shooting, with a bullet designed to open quickly on small targets.

The 17 hmr 17 grain hollow point bullet leaves the muzzle at about 2530 fps with roughly 242 ft-lbs of energy. That speed gives a very flat trajectory for a rimfire, which makes hitting small targets at longer rimfire distances much easier.

Federal Premium has made ammunition in Anoka, Minnesota since 1922 and is one of the largest ammunition makers in the country. Its Varmint and Predator Speer TNT line is built with the same quality controls as its premium hunting and law enforcement loads, and federal 17 hmr ammo is trusted by shooters, hunters and agencies across the United States.

This ammunition is a good fit for owners of rimfire rifles such as the Savage 93R17, CZ 457, Ruger American Rimfire and Henry lever actions chambered in .17 HMR who hunt prairie dogs, ground squirrels and other small varmints. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .17 HMR, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
