DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ – Reliable 223 Remington Target Ammo, 3020 fps, 50 Rounds

Description

The DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ load is built for shooters who want more from their 223 Remington than typical factory ammunition delivers. DoubleTap loads a 62 grain FMJ-BT (full metal jacket boat tail) Match bullet to a rated 3020 feet per second, producing about 1330 foot-pounds of energy from a 20 inch barrel. The 62 grain boat tail bullet carries its velocity well at distance, and the 50 round box makes this a practical load for practice and competition.

Why Choose the DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ

• 62 grain FMJ-BT Match bullet
• Rated 3020 fps, 1330 ft-lbs (20 in barrel)
• About 2850 fps from a 16 inch barrel
• Lead core, no steel penetrator
• 50 rounds per box, item 223R62T50

Built for the Range

• Range practice and training with an AR-15
• Competition and steel target shooting
• Ranges that do not allow steel-core ammunition
• AR-15 rifles with 1:7 or 1:9 twist barrels

Many AR-15 owners keep a few different loads on hand. The DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ sits alongside the 55 grain FMJ-BT for lighter practice and the 69 and 77 grain HPBT loads for longer-range precision.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance DoubleTap builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

Why Choose DoubleTap 223 Rem Ammo

The 62 grain bullet weight is a favorite in modern AR-15s with 1:7 or 1:9 twist barrels, and it bucks wind better than a 55 grain bullet at longer range. DoubleTap rates this load at 3020 fps and 1330 foot-pounds from a 20 inch barrel and about 2850 fps from a 16 inch carbine.

When you compare 223 rem target ammo, look for consistency and range compatibility. This 223 rem 62 grain fmj load uses a conventional lead core, so it is suitable for many ranges that do not permit steel-core SS109 ammunition, and it is labeled 223 Remington so it can be fired in rifles marked 223 or 5.56 NATO.

DoubleTap Ammunition is an American company known for loading popular calibers to their full potential, especially the 10mm Auto and other magnum handgun rounds. Doubletap 223 rem ammo is loaded with quality components and brass cases, and many shooters choose it when they want the performance a caliber was designed for rather than a reduced-power range load.

AR-15 owners, competitors and anyone who trains often with a 223 rifle will find this a dependable practice load. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for 223 Remington, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
