Description

The Christensen Ridgeline FFT 28 Nosler puts one of the hardest-hitting long range hunting cartridges into a rifle light enough to carry up a mountain. It runs a 22 inch carbon fiber wrapped threaded barrel with a removable brake, a bronze Cerakote receiver, and a Sporter FFT carbon fiber stock in Barren Dune, and Christensen guarantees sub-MOA accuracy.
Christensen Ridgeline FFT 28 Nosler Barrel and Brake
The barrel is a 416R stainless steel core wrapped in aerograde carbon fiber, button rifled, match chambered, and free floating the full length of the forend. Carbon wrapping matters more on a cartridge like this than on most: 28 Nosler burns a lot of powder and generates real heat, and a carbon wrapped barrel sheds it considerably faster than steel of the same profile.
A removable brake comes fitted on the threaded muzzle, and on a sub-seven-pound rifle chambered in 28 Nosler it is not optional equipment for most shooters. It takes what would otherwise be a punishing rifle and makes it something you can practice with. Take it off and a suppressor threads straight on.
The 28 Nosler Cartridge
The 28 Nosler Cartridge
It fits in a standard long action, which means the rifle handles like a 30-06 rather than requiring an oversized magnum action. The trade is barrel life and recoil, both of which are real. This is a cartridge that rewards careful shooting rather than volume, and the brake is a large part of what makes it manageable.
Action, Stock, and Trigger
The receiver is precision machined by Christensen Arms to a Remington 700 footprint, drilled and tapped, and finished in bronze Cerakote to match the barrel. Standard 700 bases and rings fit, so setting it up with good glass is straightforward.
The Sporter FFT stock is Christensen Flash Forged Technology carbon fiber with spot bedding and carbon fiber bedding pillars, finished in Barren Dune, a light tan and grey pattern suited to open, arid country. The trigger is a TriggerTech with the frictionless release that makes the break feel clean without creep.

Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Ridgeline FFT 28 Nosler
Very few rifles chambered in 28 Nosler are light enough to hunt with comfortably. Most are heavy long range builds that live on a bipod. This one weighs what a standard hunting rifle weighs while shooting a cartridge that will reach across a canyon, and it comes with an accuracy guarantee in writing rather than a hope.
The 22 inch barrel is a sensible compromise as well. You give up some velocity against a 26 inch tube, but you get a rifle that is manageable in timber and reasonable once a suppressor goes on.
Who Should Buy It
The Christensen Ridgeline FFT 28 Nosler suits western elk and mule deer hunters who take long shots and cover ground on foot. It also suits anyone who wants one rifle capable of anything in North America short of the big bears. If you are recoil sensitive, or you want to shoot a lot at the range, a 6.5 PRC or 7mm PRC version of this same rifle will be far more pleasant and much cheaper on barrels.
