Description

The Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire 17 HMR is a rimfire built to the same standard as the company centerfire chassis rifles. It runs an 18 inch carbon fiber tension barrel, a 7075 aluminum billet folding chassis in Desert Brown Cerakote, an FFT carbon fiber M-LOK handguard, and a TriggerTech trigger, and it is guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA at 50 yards.
Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire 17 HMR Barrel
The barrel is a carbon fiber tension design rather than a simple wrap. A steel liner is held in tension inside a carbon fiber sleeve, which keeps the bore straight and consistent while the carbon handles heat and stiffness. On a rimfire, where barrel harmonics dominate group size, that construction pays off in a very direct way.
It is match chambered, threaded 1/2×28, and ships with a removable thread protector. Twist is 1:9, which is what 17 HMR needs to stabilize its 17 and 20 grain bullets. Eighteen inches keeps the rifle balanced and quick without giving up velocity, since 17 HMR reaches its potential well before a longer barrel would help.
Chassis, Handguard, and Adjustment
The chassis is machined from 7075 aluminum billet and folds using Christensen MagLock system, which holds the stock shut magnetically rather than with a latch that can rattle. Folding takes roughly ten inches off the packed length, which matters for a truck, a pack, or a compact case.
Adjustment is comprehensive for a rimfire. Length of pull runs 12.5 to 14.5 inches, the FFT carbon fiber cheek riser adjusts through a full inch, and there are six QD mounting points. The handguard is FFT carbon fiber with M-LOK slots, available in 10.5 or 14 inch lengths, so a bipod or a tripod clamp mounts wherever you want it.
Action, Trigger, and Magazines
The receiver is a Christensen Arms precision machined aluminum design with dual extractors and a 0 MOA optics rail installed. It is Remington 700 trigger compatible, which is why it can take a genuine TriggerTech rather than a rimfire-specific budget unit, and that trigger is the single biggest reason this rifle shoots the way it does.
Magazines are Ruger pattern, which is the smartest decision on the whole rifle. The JMX-1 magazine used for 17 HMR is available everywhere at a reasonable price, so you are not locked into a proprietary magazine at forty dollars a copy. Capacity is 10 rounds.

Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire 17 HMR
There are two good reasons. The first is training. If your centerfire rifle is a chassis gun, this handles identically at a fraction of the ammunition cost, which means you can practice positional shooting and wind reading far more than your budget would otherwise allow.
The second is that 17 HMR is genuinely good at what it does. It shoots flat, it is lethal on ground squirrels and other small varmints well past 150 yards, and in a rifle that guarantees half an inch at 50 yards you can take those shots with confidence.
Who Should Buy It
The Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire 17 HMR suits varmint hunters who want reach and precision from a rimfire, rimfire competitors, and centerfire precision shooters looking for a cheap trainer that matches their main rifle. The folding chassis also makes it an easy rifle to keep behind a truck seat. If you want the lowest cost per round for high volume plinking, the 22 LR version of this same rifle will be far cheaper to feed and much quieter suppressed.
