Description

Fierce Carbon Razor 17 HMR bolt action rimfire rifle with carbon fiber threaded barrel, black Cerakote receiver and Phantom camo carbon fiber stock

The Fierce Carbon Razor 17 HMR is a rimfire rifle built to centerfire precision standards. It carries an 18 inch C3 carbon fiber threaded barrel, a black Cerakote steel receiver that is drilled and tapped, and a 100 percent carbon fiber stock in Phantom camo with a raised negative comb. It feeds 10+1 from a detachable magazine and weighs about 5.4 pounds.

Fierce Carbon Razor 17 HMR Barrel and Accuracy

The C3 carbon fiber barrel is the centerpiece. It is a steel core wrapped in carbon fiber and harmonically tuned, which is a real advantage in rimfire where barrel harmonics have an outsized effect on group size. Fierce backs the rifle with a half inch guarantee at 50 yards, which is a genuinely tight standard for a factory rimfire.

The muzzle is threaded, and 17 HMR is a cartridge that rewards a suppressor less than 22 LR does because it is supersonic by design, but the threads still let you fit a brake or a thread protector. Carbon wrapping also keeps the barrel stiff without the weight of a comparable steel bull barrel, which is why the whole rifle comes in under six pounds.

Action, Trigger, and Stock

The action is a two-lug stainless design with a 70 degree bolt throw and a spiral fluted, DLC-coated bolt. Seventy degrees means plenty of clearance under a low-mounted scope and a short, fast lift. The receiver is drilled and tapped, so mounting a rail and rings is straightforward.

The trigger is a Bix and Andy Dakota, set at 2.5 pounds from the factory and adjustable from roughly 1.5 to 4 pounds. Bix and Andy triggers are what a lot of custom rifle builders reach for, and finding one in a factory rimfire is unusual. The carbon stock uses an LR raised negative comb that lines your eye up behind a scope without a cheek riser, and it includes an integral bipod rail and flush cup mounts.

Why Buyers Choose the Fierce Carbon Razor 17 HMR

Serious rimfire shooters have historically had two options: a cheap rifle they immediately rebuild, or a full custom build costing several thousand dollars. The Carbon Razor arrives with the parts a custom build would use. A carbon wrapped barrel, a Bix and Andy trigger, a carbon stock, and a written accuracy guarantee are not things you find together at this price.

The 17 HMR chambering also makes a particular kind of sense in a precision rimfire. It shoots dramatically flatter than 22 LR, holds energy well past 150 yards, and is devastating on ground squirrels and other small varmints. Put it in a rifle that guarantees half an inch at 50 yards and the practical range extends well past what most rimfire shooters are used to.

Who Should Buy It

Varmint hunters who want reach and precision without stepping up to a centerfire, and rimfire competitors looking for a factory rifle that does not need immediate upgrades. The 5.4 pound weight also makes it easy to carry all day walking fence lines or pastures. If you want a high-volume plinker or a rifle for suppressed backyard practice, a 22 LR will cost far less to feed and is much quieter.
