Description

The Christensen Arms Mesa FFT 300 PRC is the lightweight stainless rifle in Christensen’s lineup, built around the Flash Forged Technology carbon fiber stock that gives the model its name. Starting weight for the Mesa FFT line is 5.9 pounds, which is remarkable for a magnum-capable hunting rifle.
This configuration wears a 22-inch stainless barrel in burnt bronze Cerakote with a carbon fiber stock in green and tan accents, and Christensen backs it with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
Christensen Arms Mesa FFT 300 PRC Barrel and Muzzle
The barrel is Christensen Arms 416R stainless steel in a Featherlight contour, button rifled with a match chamber and completely free floated. 416R is the alloy match and benchrest barrels are cut from, and the Featherlight profile is where a lot of the rifle’s weight savings come from.
The muzzle is threaded and ships with a seamless radial brake that removes if you would rather run a suppressor. On a rifle this light in .300 PRC, the brake is not optional equipment so much as the thing that makes the rifle pleasant to sight in.
Action, Trigger and Stock
The receiver is a Christensen Arms precision machined action, spot bedded into the stock, with billet aluminum bottom metal and an enlarged aluminum bolt knob. Optics mount on standard Remington 700 bases, which means the aftermarket is enormous and inexpensive.
Feeding is from an internal magazine with an aluminum hinged floorplate holding three magnum rounds, and an aftermarket conversion kit allows AICS detachable magazines if you prefer them. The trigger is a TriggerTech unit with a frictionless release that breaks with essentially no creep.

Why 300 PRC
.300 PRC was designed around long, heavy, high-BC .30 caliber bullets from the start, with a case and throat geometry that lets them sit properly rather than eating into powder space the way they do in older magnums. A 212 or 225 grain bullet leaves this barrel fast and holds velocity remarkably well.
For elk, moose and open-country hunting, that combination means flatter trajectory and more retained energy at distance than a .300 Win Mag delivers with the same bullet weight. It is a genuinely modern magnum rather than a repackaged old one.
Why Buyers Choose It
Christensen has been building carbon-stocked rifles longer than almost anyone, and the FFT stock is the lightest they make. Combined with a Featherlight stainless barrel, it produces a magnum rifle that carries like a mid-weight sporter.
The sub-MOA guarantee is the other reason. Spot bedding, a match chamber, a free-floated barrel and a TriggerTech trigger are what make that promise credible on a rifle at this weight.
Optics and Ammunition
Factory .300 PRC is loaded by Hornady, Federal, Nosler and Barnes among others, with 212 and 225 grain ELD-X and ELD-M being the most common starting points. Brass is readily available for handloaders.
Because the receiver takes standard Remington 700 bases, mounting glass is straightforward. A 3-15x or 4-16x in the 20 to 24 ounce range keeps the finished rifle near eight pounds scoped, which preserves the whole point of the FFT stock.
Who Should Buy It
This rifle suits the elk or moose hunter who covers ground on foot, the western hunter who wants magnum reach without magnum weight, and anyone who values a rifle they can carry all day and still trust for a long shot at the end of it.
