Description
The CCI GamePoint 17 HMR 20gr JSP load brings big game bullet design to the .17 HMR. CCI built this 20 grain jacketed soft point with a Dimple Tip that starts expansion on impact, much like a controlled-expansion hunting bullet, and drives it at a rated 2375 feet per second. The result is a fast, flat-shooting small game load that transfers energy quickly while keeping meat and hide damage to a minimum, making it a favorite of squirrel, rabbit and furbearer hunters.
Why Choose the CCI GamePoint 17 HMR 20gr JSP
- 20 grain jacketed soft point with Dimple Tip
- Rated 2375 fps muzzle velocity
- Expands for fast, humane kills
- Minimal meat and hide damage
- 50 rounds per box, CCI 0052
Built for Small Game and Furbearers
- Controlled expansion instead of explosive fragmentation
- Flat trajectory for confident longer shots
- Consistent accuracy from reliable CCI priming
- Fits any rifle or handgun chambered in .17 HMR
CCI has built rimfire ammunition in Lewiston, Idaho for decades, and its priming is known for consistent ignition in all kinds of weather. Once your scope is zeroed with this load, check it again before each season, since switching between polymer-tip, FMJ and soft point loads can shift point of impact slightly.
Store rimfire ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original box to protect the bullets. Practice from field positions such as sitting and kneeling before the season opens so you can place every shot where it counts.
Shot placement still matters with any small caliber. Head shots on squirrels and rabbits, and well-placed shots just behind the shoulder on larger furbearers, give the quickest results. Keep your shots within the range where you can reliably hit a small target, and let the flat trajectory of the .17 HMR work for you rather than stretching it too far.
Rimfire bullets can travel well over a mile, so always confirm a safe backstop before taking any shot, especially when hunting squirrels in tall trees where shots angle upward.

Why Hunters Choose 17 HMR GamePoint
Most .17 HMR ammunition uses polymer-tipped bullets that fragment violently, which is ideal for prairie dogs but hard on game you plan to eat or pelts you plan to sell. The 17 hmr gamepoint load takes a different approach. Its soft point bullet opens up in a controlled way, delivering energy fast without blowing apart, so you get quick kills and cleaner meat and hides.
The Dimple Tip is a small indentation in the nose of the jacket that helps start expansion reliably, even at longer rimfire distances where velocity has dropped. That makes this 17 hmr soft point a versatile choice for squirrels in the treetops, rabbits in the brush and foxes or other furbearers at the edge of a field.
Like all .17 HMR loads, it shoots flat and bucks light wind better than a .22 LR, so you can take ethical shots at longer ranges with confidence.
Small game hunters, trappers and anyone who wants dependable 17 hmr hunting ammo that saves meat and pelts will get steady performance from this 50-round box. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .17 HMR, know what is beyond your target, and follow all federal, state and local hunting laws.
