Description
The Canik METE SFx is the long-slide competition member of the METE family, and it may be the best value in a factory race gun right now. A 5.2-inch match grade barrel, an optic-ready slide with two mounting plates included, a flared magwell and an undercut trigger guard all come standard.

What You Get With the Canik METE SFx
Canik built its reputation by including features other makers charge extra for, and the Canik METE SFx is the clearest example. Out of the box you get a match grade barrel, a tuned striker-fired trigger, aggressive frame texturing, a Picatinny rail, two optics adapter plates and two magazines. Very little needs changing before a first match.
5.2-Inch Match Grade Barrel
The extra barrel length adds velocity and, more importantly, sight radius. Combined with the additional slide mass out front, the Canik METE SFx tracks noticeably flatter than a duty-length pistol. The barrel wears a black nitride finish that shrugs off wear and cleans up easily.
Optic Ready With Plates Included
The Canik METE SFx slide is cut for a red dot and ships with two adapter plates, which covers most common footprints without a separate purchase. Three-dot white sights serve as backups behind the dot. For a shooter moving into carry optics competition, that saves both money and waiting time.
Competition Ergonomics
An integrally flared magwell on the Canik METE SFx funnels magazines during reloads, and the undercut trigger guard lets the hand ride higher for better recoil control. The aggressive grip texture holds through sweaty summer matches. Everything about the Canik METE SFx layout is aimed at speed rather than concealment.
Reasonable Weight and Two Magazines
At 30.1 ounces and 8.29 inches long, this is a full-size pistol that is still lighter than a steel-framed competitor. Two ten-round magazines ship in the box, along with the accessories Canik is known for bundling. An integral locking system handles storage security.

Who Should Buy It
New and intermediate competition shooters get the most out of this pistol, as do range shooters who want a soft-shooting long slide without a custom budget. It also makes a capable home-defense pistol if you have room for the extra length and add a light. Plenty of instructors keep a Canik METE SFx on hand precisely because new shooters shoot it well almost immediately, and the low purchase price leaves budget for ammunition and training.
Be aware of the compromises. At 8.29 inches this is not a concealed carry gun, and holsters for a long-slide optic-equipped pistol are a specialty item. This particular configuration ships with ten-round magazines rather than the eighteen and twenty-round versions, so budget for spares if you want full capacity. Canik magazines and aftermarket parts are less widely stocked than Glock or Sig components, and warranty service goes through the importer rather than a domestic factory. The three-dot white sights are functional but plain, and many buyers replace them with fiber optic or tritium units.
None of that undermines the value proposition. Dollar for dollar the Canik METE SFx is hard to beat. Browse more handguns in our firearms catalog, or review the factory page at Canik USA.
