Description
The Canik METE MC9 LS is the long slide version of Canik’s micro-compact nine, and it fixes the one thing that holds small pistols back: sight radius. A 3.63-inch barrel, an optic-ready slide and a flat dark earth frame make it shoot far better than its size suggests.
Micro-Compact Grip, Full-Size Sight Radius
Canik took the METE MC9 and added roughly half an inch of slide and barrel. The grip stays the same size, so the pistol conceals like a micro-compact while the front sight sits noticeably farther out. That extra sight radius is why the Canik METE MC9 LS is easier to shoot accurately at distance than almost anything else in this footprint.
Optic-Ready Slide
The black nitride slide comes cut for a red dot straight from the factory, with serrations front and rear that give a positive grip even with wet hands. Nitride is a surface treatment rather than a coating, so it resists holster wear and corrosion. Iron sights co-witness cleanly under most micro red dots, which keeps the pistol usable if a battery dies.
Flat Dark Earth Polymer Frame
The FDE polymer frame carries an integral Picatinny rail for a compact light or laser. Three interchangeable backstraps ship in the box, so the grip circumference can be tuned to your hand rather than the other way around. The magazine catch is reversible, making the Canik METE MC9 LS genuinely workable for left-handed shooters.
California Compliant Configuration
This particular build ships California compliant with two ten-round magazines, so it is legal to transfer in restricted jurisdictions without aftermarket modification. Everything else about the pistol is unchanged. Buyers outside those states often choose it anyway, simply because ten-round magazines sit flush and print less under a shirt.
What Comes in the Box
Canik has always been generous here, and this pistol is no exception. The hard case includes two magazines, a magazine loader, three grip backstraps, a custom holster, a punch, a toolkit, a bore brush, jag and rod, plus a gun lock and manual. Most competitors charge extra for the holster alone, which is a meaningful part of the value here.
Trigger and Handling
Canik built its reputation on triggers, and the striker-fired unit here keeps that going with a short, positive reset and a clean break. It is noticeably better than the mushy pulls common on carry-sized pistols in this price range.
At 23.73 ounces unloaded the Canik METE MC9 LS carries enough mass to settle recoil without becoming a burden on a belt. Combined with the longer slide, follow-up shots land faster than the pistol’s size would suggest.

Who Should Buy It
This is the right pistol for someone who carries daily but refuses to give up shootability. The longer slide tames muzzle rise, the optic cut is already there, and the included holster means you can carry it the day it clears transfer.
The Canik METE MC9 LS is slightly longer than a standard micro-compact, so it prints marginally more in an ankle or pocket rig. Ten-round capacity also trails the 15-round versions sold in unrestricted states.
Shooters who want maximum capacity or the smallest possible package should look at the standard METE MC9 in our catalog instead. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
