Description
The Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro 7mm PRC is the Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro Smoked Bronze in 7mm PRC, a premium lightweight hunting rifle with a stainless Pro receiver, a 24 inch spiral fluted stainless barrel, Smoked Bronze Cerakote and a carbon fiber stock with an adjustable comb. This listing is UPC 023614865414, Browning item 036086298. It is a long action rifle that weighs about 6 lb 7 oz, measures 44 3/4 inches overall and holds 3 rounds in a detachable rotary magazine.
Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro 7mm PRC Overview
The Mountain Pro is built for hunters who climb for elk, sheep and mule deer and count every ounce. Browning combines a stainless Pro receiver, a spiral fluted bolt with an aluminum handle and a carbon fiber stock to keep weight under 6 1/2 pounds in a magnum chambering, then adds a brake so the rifle is still pleasant to shoot.
Carbon Fiber Stock with Adjustable Comb
The carbon fiber stock with accent graphics is light and stiff, and the adjustable comb lets you line your eye up behind a large scope. Browning lists a 13 5/8 inch length of pull, an Inflex 1.25 recoil pad, textured grip panels and two QD sling cups plus a Picatinny rail stud for a bipod.
Spiral Fluted Stainless Barrel
The 24 inch stainless steel barrel has spiral flutes to save weight and a 1:8 twist, which stabilizes the long, high BC bullets that make the 7mm PRC shine. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and wears a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake. Brakes are loud, so always wear hearing protection.
Smoked Bronze Cerakote
The stainless barrel and receiver wear Smoked Bronze Cerakote over stainless steel, a double layer of protection against rust that matters on wet, cold mountain hunts.
Pro Receiver and Bolt
The stainless Pro receiver, spiral fluted bolt with black flutes and aluminum bolt handle trim weight from the action. The adjustable trigger, top tang safety and bolt unlock button carry over from the rest of the X-Bolt 2 line.
The 7mm PRC Cartridge
The 7mm PRC uses long, high ballistic coefficient bullets for flat trajectories and strong energy at distance, a modern choice for elk and mule deer hunters.
About Suppressors
You can remove the brake and mount a suppressor on the 5/8-24 threads. A suppressor is an NFA item that requires an approved ATF Form 4 and registration and is not legal in every state. MAG5 does not sell NFA items.
Mounting a Scope
The X-Bolt family uses its own scope mounting pattern, so buy bases or rings made for the X-Bolt rather than Remington 700 style bases.
State Laws
Bolt action rifles are legal in most places, but hunting rules on calibers and seasons vary. Check your state game laws. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
