Browning 1911-22 Copper Full Size Overview
The 1911-22 is built at 85 percent of the size of the original Model 1911, so it has the look, controls and manual of arms of a full size 1911 but fires inexpensive 22 LR ammunition. It is a single action pistol with a grip safety and a thumb safety, which makes it a good way to learn 1911 handling and to practice for a fraction of the cost of centerfire ammo.
85 Percent Scale
Because the frame and slide are scaled down to 85 percent, the grip fits smaller hands well and the pistol is light and easy to carry around the range. The flip side is that standard 1911 holsters and magazines will not fit, so buy holsters and spare magazines made specifically for the 1911-22.
Copper Cerakote Slide
The slide wears Copper Cerakote, a ceramic based coating that holds up to handling, holster wear and solvents much better than paint. It gives the pistol a distinctive look while the matte black frame and controls keep it from looking flashy.
Black Label Features
The Black Label models use a lightweight composite frame with a beavertail grip safety, serrations on the slide and laminate wood grips.
