Description
The Bravo Company MID-16 MOD 0 is a mid-length 5.56 carbine built to genuine mil-spec throughout, with a 16-inch government profile barrel, a BCM PKMR polymer KeyMod handguard and BCM’s own compensator, stock, grip and charging handle fitted from the factory.
Why Mid-Length Gas Matters
A 16-inch carbine-length gas system runs harder than it needs to. Moving the gas port further out to a mid-length position lowers port pressure, slows the bolt’s unlocking and cuts felt recoil noticeably. The Bravo Company MID-16 MOD 0 uses that longer gas system, which is why it shoots softer and is easier on parts than a standard M4 carbine of the same barrel length.
Mil-Spec Where It Counts
The barrel is MIL-SPEC 11595E steel with a 1:7 twist and a manganese phosphate finish, fitted with an M4 feed ramp barrel extension. The bolt carrier group is Carpenter No. 158 steel, shot peened, HPT and MPI tested, with a chrome-lined gas key staked to USGI specification. These are the specifications that separate a rifle built to a standard from one built to a price. BCM does not deviate from them.
Forged 7075-T6 Receivers
Upper and lower are 7075-T6 aluminum forgings, hardcoat anodized to MIL-A-8625F Type III Class 2. The upper is an M4 feed ramp flat top with laser T-markings for repeatable optic mounting. The receiver extension is BCM’s own mil-spec 7075-T6 unit running a USGI H buffer, one tungsten and two steel weights, which further smooths the cycle.
BCM PKMR Handguard
The PKMR is BCM’s polymer KeyMod rail: light, slim enough to actually get a hand around, and moulded rather than machined so it costs a fraction of an aluminum rail without giving up accessory mounting. Combined with the mid-length gas system, the Bravo Company MID-16 MOD 0 balances further back than most 16-inch carbines.
BCM Furniture and Controls
The rifle ships with BCM’s own compensator, BCMGUNFIGHTER stock and pistol grip, BCM charging handle and a QD end plate. The trigger is BCM’s PNT, a polished nickel Teflon coated mil-spec unit that breaks far cleaner than a standard trigger. Buying those parts separately for a bare rifle would cost most of the difference in price.
What Ships With It
One thirty-round magazine where state law allows, a cable lock and the USGI manual. The lower is marked SAFE and SEMI.

Who Should Buy It
This is a duty-grade carbine for someone who wants a rifle that works rather than a rifle that impresses. Home defense, patrol, training courses and hard use are all squarely within what BCM builds for.
The Bravo Company MID-16 MOD 0 costs more than an entry-level AR because the components that are invisible from the outside are the ones BCM spends money on. A polymer handguard also flexes more than aluminum under a heavy bipod load.
Shooters chasing the lightest possible build or a free-float aluminum rail should compare BCM’s MCMR models, and anyone wanting a budget first AR will find cheaper options in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
