Description

The Bravo Company M4 Carbine MOD 0 is a 16-inch 5.56 NATO carbine built to full military specification, with a chrome lined bore and chamber, MIL-SPEC 11595E barrel steel and a Carpenter No. 158 bolt carrier group. It is BCM’s most straightforward rifle and arguably its most useful. Bravo Company M4 Carbine MOD 0 5.56 NATO rifle with PKMR handguard

Built to the Standard, Not to a Price

Almost every AR-15 looks the same from three feet away. The differences live in the barrel steel, the bolt carrier metallurgy, the staking on the gas key and whether the parts were actually tested. BCM does not economise on any of those, which is why the Bravo Company M4 Carbine MOD 0 has become a default recommendation for anyone who wants a rifle that will run when it matters.

Chrome Lined Bore and Chamber

The bore and chamber are chrome lined to USGI specification. Chrome lining costs velocity precision that benchrest shooters care about and buys corrosion resistance, easier cleaning and barrel life that matters far more to everyone else. The barrel itself is independently certified MIL-SPEC 11595E steel, 16 inches, standard government profile, 1:7 twist, with manganese phosphate over the entire surface including under the handguard.

Carbine Gas System

This model uses the standard carbine-length gas system, the same as the issued M4. It is a proven, well-understood configuration, and it is what makes the rifle dimensionally identical to service carbines for training and parts purposes. Shooters who prefer a softer impulse should look at the mid-length version instead.

Tested Bolt Carrier Group

The bolt carrier group is machined from MIL-SPEC Carpenter No. 158 steel with a chrome lined carrier, a tool steel extractor and a black extractor insert. This is the part of an AR that fails first when a manufacturer cuts corners. BCM’s carriers are shot peened and individually tested, which is why the Bravo Company M4 Carbine MOD 0 gets specified by agencies and training schools.

Forged Receivers and BCM Furniture

Upper and lower are 7075-T6 aluminum forgings, hardcoat anodized, with the upper carrying M4 feed ramps and laser T-markings. The lower includes provisions for RDIAS installation and Accuwedge use, and is marked SAFE and SEMI. The rifle ships with BCM’s PKMR polymer KeyMod handguard, BCM charging handle, stock, pistol grip, trigger guard, QD end plate and compensator fitted.

Buffer System

A BCM mil-spec 7075-T6 receiver extension runs a USGI H buffer, one tungsten and two steel weights. The heavier buffer slows the carrier slightly and smooths the cycle, which reduces wear and felt recoil.

Who Should Buy It

This is the rifle to buy if you want one AR and want to stop thinking about it. Home defense, carbine courses, patrol use and general hard use are all exactly what it was designed around.

The Bravo Company M4 Carbine MOD 0 uses a carbine gas system, which runs at higher port pressure and recoils slightly harder than a mid-length. Chrome lining also gives up a little raw accuracy against a stainless match barrel.

Shooters after the softest shooting 16-inch carbine should compare the BCM MID-16, and precision-minded buyers should look at a stainless barrelled rifle in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
