Description
The Berger 6mm Creedmoor 108gr Elite Hunter is built for hunting small to mid-sized game such as whitetail deer with the flat-shooting 6mm Creedmoor. Berger loads its 108 grain Elite Hunter bullet and lists 2,931 fps with 2,060 ft-lbs at the muzzle from a 26 inch barrel. Each box holds 20 rounds.
Why Choose the Berger 6mm Creedmoor 108gr Elite Hunter
The 6mm Creedmoor has earned a huge following in precision rifle competition thanks to its accuracy, flat trajectory and mild recoil. Those same traits make it a great hunting cartridge for deer-sized game and predators when paired with a well-designed bullet.
Berger 108 grain hybrid bullet carries a high ballistic coefficient. Its hybrid ogive begins as a tangent shape for easy tuning and transitions to a secant shape for less wind drift, and its thin J4 hunting jacket is designed to penetrate a short distance and then expand rapidly.
According to Berger published data, the load still carries about 2,300 fps and 1,269 ft-lbs at 400 yards.
Hunting With the Berger 6mm Creedmoor 108gr Elite Hunter
As 6mm Creedmoor hunting ammo, this is well suited to whitetail, pronghorn and similar game when shots are placed in the vitals. For larger or tougher game, many hunters choose a heavier caliber.
Its low recoil deer load character helps shooters see their own impacts and make quick follow-ups, which is valuable for new hunters and for predator calling setups.
Many hunters also use it as coyote and deer ammo on the same trip, though predator hunters who want to preserve pelts may prefer a more frangible varmint bullet.
Confirm zero with this exact ammunition, and check local regulations regarding minimum calibers and lead-free requirements for deer.
