Description
The Bergara Premier Mountain Creedmoor (Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0) is a Premier Series bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, built on Bergara USA-made Premier action. This configuration (Bergara model BPR28-65, UPC 043125065301) has a 22-inch Cerakoted stainless steel barrel, an AG Composites carbon fiber stock and a hinged floorplate, and it weighs about 6.2 pounds.
Bergara Premier Mountain Creedmoor Overview
Bergara took its original Premier Mountain Rifle to the next level with the Mountain 2.0. An AG Composites 100 percent carbon fiber stock drops the weight dramatically, making this a rifle you can carry deep into the timber or up brutal mountain climbs without feeling it. It carries a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee with quality factory ammunition.
A Refined Two-Lug Action
The Premier action is a two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that ensures full contact with the lug abutments, plus a coned bolt nose and breech for smooth feeding. It fits Remington 700 style scope bases with 8-40 screws. The one-piece stainless bolt body has a threaded-in handle, and the bolt head, gas shield and shroud are nitrided.
AG Composites Carbon Fiber Stock
AG Composites builds some of the best lightweight hunting stocks in the business, and this 100 percent carbon fiber design keeps the rifle near 6.2 pounds. The stainless barrel goes through extra honing and quality checks, then is Cerakoted and assembled in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The thin No. 4 contour is not threaded, which keeps weight to a minimum.
Why the 6.5 Creedmoor Fits
The 6.5 Creedmoor fires long, high-BC bullets with mild recoil, which makes it easy to shoot well and deadly on deer, pronghorn and black bear. It is one of the most widely stocked rifle cartridges in America, and the 1:8 twist stabilizes the heavy match and hunting bullets it is known for.
Hinged Floorplate
A classic hinged floorplate holds 4 rounds and lets you unload quickly and safely at the end of the day without cycling every round through the action.
Packing for a Mountain Hunt
Every ounce matters when you are carrying camp on your back. A light rifle frees up weight for water, food and warm layers, and a good sling with a quick-detach mount keeps your hands free on steep ground. Bring a small multi-tool and a waterproof cover for the scope.
Choosing Ammunition
Test two or three premium hunting loads and choose the one that groups best from your barrel. Buy enough of a single lot to zero, practice and hunt with the same ammunition all season.
Setup and Optics
A lightweight 3-9x or 3-15x scope in quality low-profile rings keeps the package balanced. Zero at 100 yards and confirm your drops at 200, 300 and 400 yards with the load you plan to hunt with.
Practice in the Field
Light rifles reward good fundamentals. Practice from a pack, from shooting sticks and from sitting so the rifle feels steady in real field positions.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the bore with a quality copper solvent after the range and after the hunt, wipe the bolt and lugs, and check action screw torque before each season.
Safe Storage at Home
Store the rifle unloaded in a locked safe or cabinet with ammunition kept separately, and teach everyone in the household basic safety rules.

Before You Buy
The Mountain 2.0 barrel is not threaded, so it cannot take a brake or suppressor; if you want that option, look at the Bergara Canyon. A rifle this light recoils more than a heavy rifle in the same caliber. Optics are not included; all rifles ship to your local FFL dealer.
Who It Is For
The Bergara Premier Mountain Creedmoor is a great fit for deer and pronghorn hunters in steep country who want mild recoil and real long-range accuracy in a rifle light enough to carry all day.
