Description
The Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 is a Premier Series bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC, built on Bergara’s USA-made Premier action. This configuration (Bergara model BPR28-65PRC, UPC 043125065349) has a 24-inch Cerakoted stainless steel barrel, an AG Composite carbon fiber stock and a hinged floorplate, and it weighs about 6.3 pounds.
Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 Overview
Bergara took its original Premier Mountain Rifle to the next level with the Mountain 2.0. A 100 percent carbon fiber stock from AG Composite drops the weight dramatically, making this a rifle you can carry deep into the timber or up brutal climbs without feeling it. The Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 carries Bergara’s sub-MOA accuracy guarantee with quality factory ammunition.
A Refined Two-Lug Action
The action is a two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that ensures full contact with the lug abutments, plus a coned bolt nose and breech for smooth feeding. It fits Remington 700 style scope bases with 8-40 screws, which gives you a huge range of mounting options. The one-piece stainless bolt body has a threaded-in handle, and the bolt head, gas shield and shroud are fully nitrided for durability and smooth operation.
Ultralight Carbon Fiber Stock
This 100 percent carbon fiber design from one of the best lightweight stock makers in the business keeps the rifle near 6.3 pounds. The stainless barrel goes through extra honing and quality checks, then is Cerakoted and assembled in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Extra Reach From the 6.5 PRC
The 6.5 PRC drives long 6.5mm bullets roughly 200 to 300 feet per second faster than the 6.5 Creedmoor, extending effective range on deer, sheep and mule deer with moderate recoil. It fits a short action, and the 1:8 twist stabilizes heavy 140 to 156 grain bullets.
Setup and Care
Mount a quality scope with solid rings, zero at 100 yards and record drops at several distances with the load you plan to use. Practice from field positions as well as the bench. After a wet day, wipe the rifle down, run a dry patch through the bore and let it air out of the case overnight, and check the action screws and scope mounts before each season.
Choosing Optics
A rifle with this level of accuracy deserves good glass. For most hunting, a 3-15x or 4-16x scope with a simple holdover or turret system covers everything from close timber shots to long field shots. If you plan to shoot farther, choose a first focal plane scope with exposed elevation turrets and a zero stop, and mount it on a one-piece 20 MOA base for extra elevation travel. Keep the total package balanced so the rifle still carries comfortably on a sling.
Packing Light for the High Country
Every ounce matters when you are climbing for sheep or packing an elk camp on your back. Pair this rifle with a compact scope in lightweight rings, a slim sling and a short bipod or shooting sticks, and the whole setup can stay well under eight pounds. Practice shooting with the gear you will actually carry, including your pack as a rest, so the first shot of the season feels familiar.

Before You Buy
The magazine holds two rounds of this long cartridge. A rifle this light moves more under recoil than a heavier gun, so a brake or suppressor on the threaded barrel is worth considering. No scope, base or rings are included.
