Description
The Bergara B-14 Squared Crest is a backcountry bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm PRC, built around a 100 percent carbon fiber stock and a fluted steel barrel. This configuration (Bergara model B14LM7513, UPC 043125016617) has a 22-inch threaded barrel with an Omni muzzle brake, a Sniper Gray Cerakote finish and a detachable AICS-style magazine, and it weighs about 7.2 pounds.
Bergara B-14 Squared Crest Overview
Bergara designed the Squared line for hunters who want a premium rifle without a custom price tag. The Bergara B-14 Squared Crest uses the proven B-14 action, which runs a two-lug bolt with a sliding extractor and a tapered bolt and breech for smooth feeding and extraction. The bolt is fluted to save weight, and the whole barreled action is finished in Sniper Gray Cerakote to resist rust and wear in wet country.
Monocoque Carbon Fiber Stock
The stock is made with CF-RTM technology, a process borrowed from aerospace and automotive work, where dry carbon fiber is laid by hand and injected with resin. An internal carbon spine adds rigidity from the grip to the fore-end, and length-of-pull spacers let you tailor the fit. The result is a carbon fiber stock that is light, stiff and tough enough for rough pack trips.
Fluted Barrel With Omni Muzzle Brake
The 22-inch barrel is 4140 chrome-moly steel, fluted to trim weight and speed cooling, and rifled with a 1:8 twist to stabilize long, high-BC 7mm bullets. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with Bergara’s Omni brake, which takes the edge off magnum recoil so you can watch your shot land. Bergara’s barrel process is the reason the company backs these rifles with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
A Capable 7mm PRC Hunting Rifle
The 7mm PRC was built around modern long-range bullets and delivers a flat path and strong retained energy for elk, moose and mule deer. In a mountain rifle that stays near 7 pounds, it offers a strong balance of reach, recoil and carry weight. Bergara notes that the 7 PRC version ships with a CIP-length Accurate-Mag magazine so long, high-BC loads fit and feed properly.

Before You Buy
A muzzle brake is loud, so wear quality hearing protection and warn anyone shooting beside you. The receiver is drilled and tapped, but no scope base or rings are included. Factory 7mm PRC ammunition is available from the major makers, though it can be harder to find in small-town stores than older cartridges, so stock up before a trip.
Who It Is For
The Bergara B-14 Squared Crest is a strong pick for elk and mule deer hunters who hike far from the trailhead, and for whitetail hunters who want a premium mountain rifle that will also handle a dream hunt out west.
