Description
The Bergara B-14 Ridge 7mm PRC 22 in is a Bergara B-14 Ridge bolt action rifle in 7mm PRC with a 22 inch No. 5 taper barrel in Graphite Black Cerakote and a glass fiber reinforced synthetic stock. This listing is UPC 043125017263, Bergara model B14LM5013C. It weighs about 7.6 pounds, measures 42 inches overall and holds 3 magnum rounds in an internal box magazine.
Bergara B-14 Ridge 7mm PRC 22 in Overview
Bergara made its name building barrels in Spain, and the B-14 Ridge puts one of those barrels on a proven two lug action at a working hunter price. Bergara backs the Ridge with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, and its 700 style footprint means bases, rings and triggers are easy to find.
Bergara Barrel
The 22 inch barrel is 4140 chrome moly steel in a No. 5 taper contour with a 1:8 twist, a good match for the long, heavy bullets the 7mm PRC was designed around. Graphite Black Cerakote protects it from rust and scratches. Distributors list a threaded muzzle with a brake on this version; brakes are loud, so wear hearing protection.
B-14 Action
The B-14 action uses a two lug bolt with a sliding plate extractor and a coned bolt nose and breech, which guides cartridges smoothly into the chamber. The bolt runs smoothly and the action footprint matches the Remington 700, so most 700 style scope bases fit.
Synthetic Stock
The American style molded synthetic stock is reinforced with glass fiber for stiffness, and it will not swell or warp in wet weather. It is a classic sporter shape that carries well and shoulders naturally for quick field shots.
Hinged Floor Plate Magazine
The internal box magazine holds 3 rounds of 7mm PRC and unloads through a hinged floor plate, so you can empty the rifle without cycling every round through the action at the end of the day.
Trigger and Safety
The trigger is factory adjustable, and a two position safety sits behind the bolt. Have a gunsmith make trigger adjustments if you are not familiar with the process.
The 7mm PRC Cartridge
The 7mm Precision Rifle Cartridge from Hornady launches long, high ballistic coefficient 7mm bullets fast, so it shoots flat and carries energy for elk and big deer at long range. Recoil is noticeable, similar to a 7mm Rem Mag, and premium ammunition costs more than common calibers.
Who It Suits
The Ridge suits hunters who want a reliable, accurate magnum for elk, mule deer and open country whitetails without paying for a premium custom rifle. Pair it with a quality 4 to 16 power scope.
State Laws
Bolt action rifles are legal in most places, but some states restrict muzzle brakes or threaded barrels, and hunting rules on calibers vary. We can only ship this rifle where it is legal. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
