Description
The Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting Vittoria is the same clays gun as the standard Xcel Sporting, built on a stock geometry designed around a different set of body proportions. Vittoria is Beretta’s line for shooters who do not fit a standard field stock well, and in practice that means most women and a fair number of smaller-framed men.
This build carries a 28 inch blued Steelium vent rib barrel, a gray receiver, Xtra-Grain oil-finished checkered walnut, and a Micro-Core recoil pad. Chamber is 3 inches and capacity is two plus one.
What the Vittoria stock actually changes
A standard shotgun stock is cut for a tall shooter with long arms and a relatively flat chest. Put that stock on someone built differently and the gun mounts wrong: the comb sits too low against the cheek, the length of pull is too long to mount cleanly, and the cast pushes the barrel across the line of sight. The barrel is Steelium with the Optima-Bore HP sporting profile, and the gun ships with improved cylinder, modified, and improved modified choke tubes. Sighting is a white steel mid-bead and front bead, the safety is a manual crossbolt, and the Micro-Core pad spreads the recoil impulse without adding the weight of a hydraulic system.

Shells, fit, and transfer notes
Target shotshells are standardized by SAAMI, and light 7/8 and 1 ounce loads are both a sensible starting point on this gun; there is no reason to shoot anything heavy at clay targets. We keep 1 1/8 ounce heavy target loads in stock for volume practice, and lighter loads are worth seeking out if recoil is a concern.
