Description
The Beretta 92FS in 9mm, part number J92F300GRTB18, is the OD Green threaded barrel build of the service pistol that armed the United States military for three decades. Slide and frame are Cerakoted olive drab, the barrel is 5.10 inches and threaded, the frame has a beavertail, and the grips are black textured panels. Capacity is eighteen plus one. That is three more than a standard 92 magazine holds and it comes from the factory rather than from an extension.
Underneath the finish it is the same open slide, falling locking block design Beretta has built since 1975, which is why these pistols feed and shoot the way they do.
Eighteen rounds, a beavertail and a threaded muzzle
Eighteen plus one in a service pistol that was designed around fifteen is a real change, not a marketing number. It is one more reload you do not have to do.
The beavertail frame is the other quiet upgrade. The original 92 hammer could bite a high grip; the beavertail removes the problem rather than asking you to change how you hold the gun.
The barrel is threaded from the factory with a protector fitted, so a muzzle device mounts without gunsmithing and without voiding anything.
We do not sell suppressors or any other NFA item. A can is bought separately through an NFA dealer and requires ATF approval before you take possession of it.
Why the Beretta 92FS still shoots the way it does
The top of the slide is cut away entirely rather than having a conventional ejection port, so a spent case has nowhere to catch and a fresh round has a clear path into the chamber.
The locking block falls rather than the barrel tilting, so the barrel stays level through the cycle. It is a large part of why the 92 shoots as flat as it does.
A 5.10 inch barrel and the long sight radius that comes with it flatter most shooters, and the extra weight out front settles the muzzle between shots.
Ambidextrous safety and decocker and a reversible magazine release, so left handed shooters are not an afterthought.

Cartridge dimensions and pressures are standardized by SAAMI. For practice we stock 115 grain 9mm brass cased full metal jacket, which is the load most 92s are happiest on. The threaded muzzle ships with a protector; leave it fitted unless something is actually screwed onto the barrel, because exposed threads are easy to damage. Buyers who want the standard blued gun should compare the 92FS 15 round, the stainless version is the 92FS Inox, and the heavier slide build is the 92FS Brigadier. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
Why it is worth considering
- Eighteen rounds from the factory rather than fifteen plus an extension.
- A beavertail frame, which ends the hammer bite the original 92 could give a high grip.
- A 5.10 inch threaded barrel with a protector fitted.
- An open slide design with very little for a case or a cartridge to catch on.
- OD Green Cerakote over both slide and frame, which is a corrosion barrier as much as a colour.
Who it suits
This suits a shooter who wants a full sized 92 with the modern additions, and who may put a light on it and a can on the end of it later. It is a large, heavy pistol and a poor choice for concealment. Every handgun we sell ships to a licensed FFL for transfer.
