Description
The ATI Nomad Gen3 18.5 inch is the compact, folding-stock version of ATI’s single-shot 20 gauge, and it is one of the smallest packable shotguns you can legally buy off the shelf. Catalogued as ATIG20NMD18G3, it combines an 18.5-inch barrel, a folding black synthetic stock and a hammerless break action into a gun that stows almost anywhere.
Why the ATI Nomad Gen3 18.5 Inch Exists
Most shotguns are awkward to store and worse to transport. Fold this one and it becomes short enough to slide into a pack, a tractor toolbox, a boat locker or the space behind a truck seat. That is the whole design brief, and everything else on the gun follows from it: minimal weight, no magazine, no tubes, nothing that protrudes or snags.
Folding Black Synthetic Stock
The folding stock is what separates this model from the 26-inch version. Hinged behind the receiver, it drops the packed length dramatically without any tools. Polymer construction means the hinge and the stock will not swell or rot when the gun rides in a damp pack for a week, and a recoil pad is fitted to the buttplate.
18.5-Inch Barrel and Fixed Modified Choke
An 18.5-inch barrel keeps the gun legal and short while still delivering usable patterns for close work on small game and pests. The fixed modified choke is a reasonable middle constriction for a gun of this length, and there are no tubes to buy, lose or cross-thread. A bead front sight sits at the muzzle.
Hammerless Action, Cross-Bolt Safety and 3-Inch Chamber
The hammerless design means no thumb-cocking under pressure and a snag-free profile, while a cross-bolt safety sits at the trigger guard where your finger already rests. The chamber accepts shells up to 3 inches, so you can load anything from light field loads to heavier buckshot and slug options where they are legal for your use.
Storage and Transport
Folded, the ATI Nomad Gen3 18.5 inch occupies roughly half the space of a conventional shotgun, which is the difference between a gun you actually bring along and one that stays home. Anglers, trappers, ranch hands and backcountry travellers tend to be the people who appreciate that most.

Who Should Buy It
This makes sense as a packable trail or camp gun, a boat or tractor gun, an inexpensive pest-control option for a small property, or a backup that takes up almost no room in a safe. The low price also makes it an easy first shotgun for someone who wants to learn break-action fundamentals without a large outlay.
Be honest about the limits before you buy. You get one shot, with no follow-up, which rules the gun out for waterfowl, clays and any defensive role where a second round matters. A very light gun with a short barrel and a folding stock kicks harder and is louder than a full-size shotgun firing the same shell, so new shooters should start with the lightest loads available. The short barrel also shortens your sighting radius and opens patterns quickly, so effective range is modest. Folding-stock configurations carry additional legal considerations in some states, so check your local rules before ordering.
Within those constraints, the ATI Nomad Gen3 18.5 inch does something few other shotguns do at any price. Browse more options in our firearms collection, or read the manufacturer overview at American Tactical.
