Description
The AmeriGlo Haven Carry Ready Combo gives a Glock owner everything needed to set up a red dot carry gun in one box: the AmeriGlo Haven 5 MOA red dot plus a set of AmeriGlo GL-524 iron sights tall enough to co-witness through the optic window.
AmeriGlo Haven Carry Ready Combo Overview
AmeriGlo catalogs this kit as HVN04. The Haven itself has a 28 x 19mm window, an aluminum housing and the Trijicon RMR footprint. AmeriGlo rates it waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The 5 MOA dot covers about 1.25 inches at 25 yards, so it is easy to pick up quickly at typical self defense distances.
Matching Iron Sights
The GL-524 sights are made for Glock pistols running an optic, so they sit high enough to see through the Haven window. If the battery ever dies or the window gets covered in rain or mud, you still have usable sights right where you expect them. They are built by the same company known for its tritium night sights.
Side Loading Battery
One CR2032 battery loads from the side of the housing, so you can change it without taking the sight off the slide or losing zero. AmeriGlo rates battery life at up to about three years on low and about one year on the middle and high settings.
Brightness and Auto Off
There are 11 brightness settings, two of them dim enough for night vision use. The Power Protect feature shuts the dot off after about 12 hours without movement and turns it back on when the gun moves.
Mounting
The Haven uses the RMR footprint. Many Glock MOS pistols need an RMR adapter plate, and some aftermarket slides are cut for RMR directly. Check your slide and plate before ordering, and have a gunsmith install the iron sights if you do not own a sight pusher.
Photo Note
The photos show the Haven optic, which is the same red dot included in this combo. The GL-524 iron sights are included in the box but are not shown.
Zeroing Tips
Most pistol shooters zero a red dot at 15 to 25 yards. Start close to get on paper, then move back and adjust. Fire groups of three to five shots before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to carry.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
