Description
The Alpha Foxtrot Romulus polished comp takes the mid-length 4.25-inch double stack and gives it both a threaded muzzle and a factory compensator, then finishes frame and slide in polished DLC over SUS416 stainless. Capacity is 20+1 of 9mm. It is the configuration for a shooter who wants the gun to look like a custom build and still shoot flat enough to run a match.
Compensated and Threaded at 4.25 Inches
4.25-inch bull barrel, threaded at the muzzle with a compensator fitted from the factory.
Gas bled through the comp holds the muzzle down, so the sight or dot returns faster between shots.
Polished DLC over SUS416 stainless on both frame and slide, which gives the Alpha Foxtrot Romulus polished comp its mirror-flat sides.
Serrated slide, extended beavertail and a Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover.
Optic Ready and Ambidextrous
MOS adapter cut supports the RMR and the RMSc footprints, so most red dots mount without a special slide.
Polymer grip module over the steel double-stack frame, the 2011 layout behind the 20-round capacity.
Ambidextrous thumb safety and a flared magwell.
Front and rear slide serrations for positive purchase when the hands are wet.
Part number AA39X1CIG-PDBK19.

A compensator and a threaded muzzle together are more useful than either alone. The comp does the work day to day, and the threads mean it can come off for a different device, a longer comp for competition, or simply a thread protector if the gun is going into a holster where the comp catches. Removing the comp also drops a little weight off the front of an already short barrel, so the gun can be tuned toward carry or toward the range without a gunsmith.
Why it is worth considering
- Threaded and compensated from the factory.
- Polished DLC on frame and slide, not just the slide.
- 20+1 capacity with 1911 trigger geometry.
- MOS cut covers both common optic footprints.
- Built in America on SUS416 stainless.
Who it suits
Competition shooters who want the flat-shooting benefit of a comp without committing to a 5-inch gun will find this length ideal, and the polished finish makes it a gun people notice on the line. The Alpha Foxtrot Romulus polished comp also carries, though a compensator vents gas and noise to the sides, which is worth experiencing before deciding it lives on your belt.

Comparing Romulus Configurations
Alpha Foxtrot builds the Romulus in 3.5-inch, 4.25-inch and 5-inch lengths, in polished or satin DLC, with a direct RMSc cut or a MOS adapter cut, and with standard, threaded or compensated barrels. The 4.25-inch aluminum grip bundle is the same length with a machined metal grip module and five magazines. For a plain muzzle at full size, compare the 5-inch polished MOS build, and for a shorter carry option see the 3.5-inch compensated package. Model details are published at Alpha Foxtrot.
A comp needs gas to work, which means heavier bullets flatten the gun more than light target loads do. A 124-grain jacketed hollow point suits defensive use and drives the compensator properly, with 115-grain full metal jacket kept for practice volume. The threaded muzzle also allows other devices later; note that MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items, so a suppressor would need to be sourced separately and cleared through ATF approval. All firearm orders ship to a licensed FFL dealer for transfer.
