AGM Rattler V2 35-384 Thermal Scope – Reliable 384×288 Thermal

Description

The AGM Rattler V2 35-384 Thermal Scope (UPC 810027775009) is a thermal riflescope built around a 384×288 thermal sensor with a 35mm objective lens and a sensitivity rating of under 20 mK NETD.

AGM Rattler V2 35-384 Thermal Scope Overview

A thermal riflescope replaces your day optic and shows heat signatures day or night, through light fog, smoke and brush that would hide an animal from a traditional scope.

This model uses a 384×288 sensor, the popular middle ground between price and image detail for typical hunting distances.

Sensor and Optics

The 35mm lens gives a base magnification of 3× with digital zoom from 3× – 24×, and a field of view of 7.5° × 5.6° or 39 ft × 29 ft at 100 yards. AGM rates the detection range at about 1800 meters or yards for a man-sized heat signature, which is the distance where you can tell something warm is there, not where you can identify exactly what it is.

The sensor’s 12 micron pixel pitch and Less than 20 mK NETD rating describe how small each detector element is and how fine a temperature difference it can show, so lower numbers mean more detail in low-contrast conditions such as rain, fog or high humidity.

Display and Image Modes

Images appear on a 1024×768 OLED display refreshed at 50 Hz, which keeps moving animals smooth when you track them. The available color palettes are Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot, Fusion. Many hunters use white hot for general scanning and switch to black hot or a color mode to pick out detail.

Built-in recording to 16 GB of onboard storage lets you capture photos and video of your hunts for review or sharing.

Power, Storage and Build

Power comes from One replaceable rechargeable NE-4400 Li-Ion battery (two NE-4400 batteries included), with AGM quoting up to 11 hours of runtime per charge. Cold weather shortens battery life, so carry a spare on long winter nights. The housing carries a IP67 waterproof rating and the unit weighs about 1.13 lb.

Mount it on the rail with the included mount, zero it like any riflescope, and use the onboard reticle options to match your rifle and load.

What Is Included

AGM lists the following in the box: Thermal Imaging Rifle Scope, Mount, Two NE-4400 Rechargeable Batteries, Battery Charger, USB Cable, Lens Cloth, User Manual, Carrying Case.

Who Benefits Most

Hog and predator hunters, landowners managing nuisance animals, and anyone who wants to see heat signatures clearly after dark.

Honest Limitations

Thermal imagers cannot see through glass or water, and very wet or foggy air reduces contrast. Spotting heat is not the same as identifying it, so always positively identify your target before taking a shot. Check state and local hunting laws, since some states restrict thermal or night hunting.

Thermal imaging devices are export-controlled and sold for use within the United States. Check AGM’s current warranty terms before you buy.

Before You Buy

Think about your typical shot or viewing distance, since lens size and sensor resolution set how far you can detect and identify. Thermal devices are not firearms, so no FFL transfer is needed.
