Description
The AGM PVS-14 NL1 Monocular (AGM item 11P14122483011) is a classic PVS-14 style night vision monocular fitted with a Gen 2+ Level 1 image intensifier tube. It offers 1x magnification, a 40 degree field of view and a 27mm F/1.2 lens, and it can be used handheld, on the included head mount, or on a ballistic helmet with an optional mount.
AGM PVS-14 NL1 Monocular Overview
The PVS-14 has been the standard military night vision monocular for decades, and AGM’s version follows that proven layout. It weighs about 12.4 ounces, measures roughly 4.5 by 2.5 by 2.7 inches, conforms to MIL-STD-810G and is waterproof. It runs on a single AA battery, with up to about 40 hours of runtime with the IR illuminator off, and operates from minus 60 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Image Intensifier Tube
The NL1 version pairs the PVS-14 body with a Gen 2+ Level 1 image intensifier tube and traditional green phosphor. It is the most affordable way into the classic PVS-14 platform and works well for walking, scouting and general observation, especially when there is some moonlight or starlight. The built-in infrared illuminator helps in very dark spots such as under heavy timber or inside buildings.
AGM grades its tubes into levels based mainly on resolution and image cleanliness. For exact resolution and figure of merit on this tube, refer to the AGM datasheet or ask us before you order.
Controls and Features
Manual gain control lets you set image brightness for the conditions, while an automatic bright-light cut-off protects the tube from damage. LED indicators inside the field of view warn of low battery, IR on and excessive light. The built-in infrared illuminator provides close-range light that is invisible to the naked eye.
What Is Included
The package includes the monocular, head mount assembly with brow pad, eye cup, helmet and head mount adapter, soft carrying case, daylight filter, shoulder strap, lens paper, diopter lens cap, sacrificial window, demist shield, manual and battery. Optional accessories include 3x and 5x afocal magnifiers, a 51 degree lens kit, MICH, PASGT and Rhino helmet mounts, a J-arm adapter, a binocular bridge and a weapon mount.
Who Benefits Most
This version suits first-time night vision buyers, hunters checking game trails and landowners who want a dependable, mountable monocular at an entry price.
Honest Limitations
At 1x, any PVS-14 is for navigation and observation, not long-range identification. The classic PVS-14 runs on AA batteries only. Helmet mounts are sold separately. Night vision image intensifiers are export-controlled and sold for use within the United States. AGM covers this monocular with a three-year warranty.
