Description
The Rizzini BR220 20 Gauge is an Italian over and under field shotgun with 28 inch blued barrels, a steel action, a Prince of Wales grip and grade 2.5 walnut. This listing is UPC 853418909720.
Rizzini BR220 20 Gauge Overview
Rizzini builds its shotguns in the Val Trompia region of northern Italy, the heart of Italian gunmaking. The BR220 blends the proportions of a traditional Italian field gun with modern finishing and decoration.
Receiver
The steel action carries hand finished laser engraving with ornamental detailing and gauge specific hunting scenes. Rizzini lists the 20 gauge at about 6.4 lb, and the extra weight of a steel action helps the gun swing smoothly and soaks up recoil.
Prince of Wales Grip and Wood
The grade 2.5 walnut stock has an oil finish, 20 lines per inch checkering and a Prince of Wales grip, a gently rounded grip that sits between a straight English stock and a full pistol grip. It is a classic choice for upland guns and fast, instinctive shooting.
Barrels and Chokes
The 28 inch blued barrels have a ventilated 7x7mm top rib and solid side ribs. Five flush choke tubes, from cylinder through full, let you set the gun up for close flushing birds or longer passing shots.
Trigger and Ejectors
Automatic ejectors kick out fired hulls while leaving unfired shells in place for a fast reload. Rizzini builds the BR220 with either a single selective trigger or double triggers depending on configuration, so call us if you need to confirm which this gun has.
Fit
Rizzini lists a 14 1/2 inch length of pull, 1 2/5 inch drop at comb and 2 1/4 inch drop at heel. Most adults of average build can shoot it well as is, and a gunsmith can adjust length of pull for a better fit.
Choosing Shells
Rizzini lists a 3 inch chamber for the BR220. Seven eighths to one ounce loads of #7.5 or #8 shot are ideal for doves and clays, and heavier field loads handle pheasants and quail.
Cleaning and Care
Wipe the barrels and action after each outing and keep a light coat of oil on metal parts. Oil finished walnut benefits from an occasional coat of stock oil. Store the gun in its case, away from damp basements and car trunks.
State Laws
Shotguns are legal to own in all states, but transport and hunting rules vary. Check your state game laws for shot types and seasons. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
