The 555 Sporting takes the proven 555 over/under platform and sets it up for clay targets. For the clays course, Stevens adds ported barrels, a raised ventilated rib with a mid-bead and fiber-optic front sight, extended choke tubes, and a stock with an adjustable comb so you can line your eye up with the rib.

The 30-inch barrels are ported to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil, which helps you stay on target for the second bird on a pair. A single selective mechanical trigger fires both barrels reliably regardless of load, and the tang safety doubles as the barrel selector. The raised ventilated rib keeps heat shimmer out of your sight picture on hot days, and five extended chokes let you change constriction quickly by hand between stations.

Care and Cleaning
Cleaning is simple. After each outing, run a bore brush and patches through the barrel and wipe down the choke tube threads, wipe the metal with a light coat of gun oil, and check that the action is free of dirt and debris. Remove and clean the choke tubes regularly, and put a little choke tube lube on the threads so they do not seize. Wipe the walnut with a soft cloth to keep moisture off the finish.
