The SIG Sauer P365X Stainless XRAY3 is the two-tone version of SIG’s P365X micro-compact 9mm, model 365X-9-SXR3P. It pairs a natural stainless steel slide with the black XSeries grip module, XRAY3 day/night sights, an optic-ready cut and two 12-round steel magazines.
SIG Sauer P365X Stainless XRAY3 Overview
The P365X takes the 3.1 inch P365 slide and fits it to a longer XSeries grip that gives most hands a full three-finger hold. Lipsey’s lists the overall length at 6 inches and the weight at about 18 ounces. It is striker fired with a flat-faced XSeries trigger, has an accessory rail and no manual thumb safety. Unlike most P365X models, which wear black Nitron, this one has a bare stainless slide.
Why the X Grip Matters
The original P365 made 10 rounds in a tiny frame possible, but its short grip leaves the pinky hanging. The XSeries grip adds just enough length for a full hold and a 12-round flush magazine, which noticeably improves control and recoil management while keeping the slide short for concealment. Many shooters find it the best balance in the P365 family.
XRAY3 Sights and Optic Cut
XRAY3 day/night sights pair a bright front with tritium for low light, so you have a usable sight picture in the dark without adding a light. The slide is cut for a micro red dot under a removable cover plate. Check optic fit before buying a dot; footprints and mounting screws vary between models.
The Flat Trigger
The XSeries flat trigger gives a consistent finger position and a clean break. There is no manual safety on this model, so carry it only in a quality holster that fully covers the trigger guard, and keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target. If you want a thumb safety, SIG makes separate manual-safety versions.
Stainless Slide Care
A natural stainless slide resists rust from sweat better than many coatings and shows wear honestly rather than chipping. It can still spot from salty sweat if neglected, so wipe it down after carry. The two-tone look stands out on the range but can be more visible than all black when printing.
Ammunition and Magazines
Use quality 9mm Luger ammunition and confirm your defensive load runs reliably through both magazines. If you choose +P loads, check SIG’s manual first and expect more recoil and wear in a gun this small. Spare 12-round P365X magazines are widely available, and 15-round extended magazines fit the same grip.
State Laws and Ownership
Several states limit magazine capacity, including California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Connecticut, Washington and Colorado, and some cap it at 10 rounds, so the included 12-round magazines may not be legal there. California, Massachusetts and Maryland also keep handgun rosters, and this variant may not appear on them. Concealed carry permits and reciprocity vary widely, so check your local law before ordering.
