Description
The Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 set is Trijicon GL813-C-601106, and it is a different animal from the Bright and Tough sets. This is the DI line, short for dual illuminated: a green fiber optic rod sitting directly over a tritium lamp in the front sight. The fiber does the work in daylight, the tritium takes over when the light goes, and you never touch a switch.
How Dual Illumination Works on the Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 Set
A fiber optic rod gathers ambient light along its length and dumps it out of the end facing your eye. In sunlight that produces a front dot noticeably brighter than any painted ring or bare tritium lamp, which is why competition shooters have used fiber fronts for decades. The problem with fiber alone is that it goes dead in the dark. Trijicon solves that by stacking a tritium lamp underneath the rod, so as ambient light drops away the tritium becomes the visible source. There is no transition to manage and nothing to switch.
The rear sight on the Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 set is a plain black outline with a green tritium lamp, deliberately quieter than the front. That is the right way round. Your eye should be locking onto the front sight, and a rear that glows just as hard only competes with it. In daylight the rear effectively disappears and you are aiming with a single bright green front dot.
Fitment covers the slimline Glock family: the 42, the 43, the 43X and the 48. It excludes the MOS variants, which have a milled slide and need optic height sights instead. If your 43X or 48 has an optic cut, this is not your set.
Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 Specifications
Trijicon retail on the Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 set is 166 dollars, a small premium over the Bright and Tough three dot set for the same pistols. What you are paying for is the green fiber optic front and the engineering that keeps a fragile rod protected on a pistol slide. The lamps use the same construction Trijicon uses across its night sight range, with a sapphire jewel cap over the tritium and a silicone cushion under the assembly to absorb slide shock.

Honest Notes on the Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 Set
Fiber optic rods are the weak point on any sight that uses them, and it is fair to say so. The rod is a thin piece of plastic. Trijicon recesses and caps it far better than most, but a hard knock on the front sight or an aggressive holster draw over grit can scuff or crack a rod in a way that a plain tritium lamp would shrug off. If you carry in a hard use environment, weigh that against the daylight brightness you are buying.
There is also a gap in the middle. In bright sun the fiber is dominant. In full dark the tritium is dominant. At dusk, in a shaded room or under a streetlight, both are running at partial output and the front sight is less emphatic than it is at either extreme. Most people never notice. Some shooters prefer a plain white outline tritium set specifically because it behaves the same way in every light.
Installation is the usual slimline Glock job and not a kitchen table one. The rear dovetail needs a pusher and the front sight on a 42 or 43 uses a tiny hex nut that is easy to cross thread. Pay a gunsmith to fit the Trijicon DI Night Sights Glock 43 set, then confirm zero on paper. And remember the tritium is a consumable: brightness halves at roughly twelve years, which is exactly why Trijicon warrants the lamps for twelve rather than for life.
