Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED 6.5 MOA Superb

Description

The Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED is the 6.5 MOA version of Trijicon’s Ruggedized Miniature Reflex, with button controlled brightness and an automatic mode. It is the largest dot Trijicon commonly stocks in this optic, and it exists for shooters who want the fastest possible pickup on a pistol. Part RM07-C-700679.

Why A Big Dot Suits The RMR Specifically

The RMR window is small by design. Thick walls and a patented housing shape are what let it survive being dropped on concrete and slammed back and forth on a slide, and the price of that toughness is less glass to look through than an SRO gives you.

A large dot partly compensates. Six and a half minutes of angle is hard to lose even in a modest window, so the Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED recovers much of the speed a bigger optic would have given you without giving up any of the durability that made the RMR what it is.

What Six And A Half Minutes Covers

About an inch and three quarters at twenty five yards, and six and a half inches at a hundred. Against the 3.25 MOA version it is four times the area, and against a one minute dot it is over forty times.

At defensive distances that costs you nothing meaningful. A centre of mass hit does not care whether your aiming point was an inch wide. Past about twenty five yards the Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED starts hiding what you are shooting at, and that is the honest limit of this configuration.

Adjustable LED With A Sixteen Hour Timeout

Buttons on the sides set brightness by hand, switch between manual and automatic, and power the optic down for storage. Leave it alone and it reads ambient light and sets itself, exactly like the automatic version.

Choose a manual level and the Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED holds it for sixteen and a half hours before reverting to automatic. With a large dot that timeout matters more than usual, because a big dot left on a high setting blooms badly and washes out detail behind it.

Run It Dimmer Than Feels Right

Dot size and brightness compound in the eye. A 6.5 minute dot at a high setting does not look like 6.5 minutes, it looks like a glowing blob with soft edges that covers considerably more than the specification says.

Set the Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED to the lowest level at which the dot reads clearly against your background rather than the brightest you can tolerate. It will look crisper, cover less target, and the battery will last longer for it.

Why Shooters Choose The Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED

• The largest commonly stocked RMR dot, fastest to find on the draw
• Big enough not to be lost in the RMR’s compact window
• Type 2 electronics built to survive slide mounted use
• Patented housing shape that diverts impact away from the lens
• Over four years of battery life at a middle brightness setting
• 1.2 oz and under two inches long

Who It Is For

Concealed carry and home defence shooters, where every realistic distance is short and speed decides the outcome. Shooters new to red dots, who benefit enormously from a dot that is simply there when the pistol comes up. Anyone with astigmatism who finds a small dot reads as a smear.

It also suits a shotgun or a close range carbine. What the Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED is not is a precision optic, and if you shoot small steel at distance or want one sight that does everything, the 3.25 minute version is the more sensible buy.

The Housing Is Still The Point

Trijicon patented the RMR body shape because it works. The angled walls absorb a blow and route the load around the lens instead of through it, which is the failure that ends most miniature reflex sights that meet concrete or a door frame.

Forged aluminium rather than cast, one and two tenths of an ounce, under two inches long. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 RM07 Adjustable LED is the same proven housing as every other RMR, and its mounting footprint is the closest thing this corner of the industry has to a standard.

A Mount Is Not Included

This is the most common ordering mistake on any RMR. The optic ships as an optic. On a pistol with a factory optics cut you need the correct plate for your slide. On an uncut pistol the slide must be milled or you fit a rear sight mount. On a long gun you need a picatinny mount at the right height.
