Description
The Taurus Judge TORO takes the revolver that made 45 Colt and 410 a single-cylinder proposition and adds the one thing owners kept asking for: a factory mounting surface for a red dot. Taurus catalogues it as 2-4410P31T, a five-shot with a 3-inch barrel, matte black oxide over steel, and an optics-ready top strap that comes with a cover plate fitted.
A dot on a revolver sounds like an odd combination until you shoot one. With 410 loads the point of impact shifts noticeably between shot and slug, and a dot lets you hold the same reference for both instead of guessing off a fixed notch. On 45 Colt at defensive distance the advantage is simply speed, because your eye stays on the target rather than the sights.
MAG5 Firearms has the Taurus Judge TORO in stock. Handguns transfer through a licensed FFL on a signed 4473, and we coordinate the paperwork with your dealer.
What the optics-ready top strap gives you
- A factory-machined mounting surface, so there is no drilling, tapping or gunsmith bill.
- Cover plate installed, which means the Taurus Judge TORO is finished and weather-tight if you never mount a dot.
- A fiber optic front sight stays in place underneath as a backup.
- A dot makes the 410 pattern and the 45 Colt bullet easier to reconcile, since one reference works for both.
- Older eyes do far better with an illuminated dot than with a black notch and a bright front bead.

The revolver underneath
- Cylinder bored straight through for both 45 Colt and 2-1/2 inch 410 shells, with no adapter or moon clip required.
- Five rounds, loaded in any mix you like.
- Steel barrel, cylinder and frame, finished in matte black oxide.
- Exposed hammer, so the Taurus Judge TORO fires single action for a lighter press or double action for speed.
- Transfer bar safety, which blocks the firing pin mechanically until the trigger is fully pressed.

One thing to be clear about before you buy ammunition: this cylinder is cut for 2-1/2 inch 410 shells, and 3-inch magnum shells do not belong in it. Both chamberings are loaded to the dimensional and pressure standards published by SAAMI, so factory ammunition from any reputable maker is appropriate. We stock Remington Performance WheelGun 45 Colt and HSM Cowboy Action 45 Colt for practice.
If you do not want the optic cut, the standard Judge Compact is the same revolver for less money. For a longer barrel and a fuller grip, look at the Judge Home Defender. The rest of our revolvers are listed alongside it.
Why the Judge TORO earns its place
- The Taurus Judge TORO puts a factory optic mount on a dual-chambering revolver, which nobody else was doing at this price.
- A revolver has no magazine to seat wrong and no slide to short-stroke, which matters on a gun that may sit for months.
- Five rounds of 45 Colt, or 410 buckshot, from the same cylinder with no conversion parts.
- The 3-inch barrel keeps it storable in a console, a nightstand drawer or a farm truck.
- Taurus backs it with a limited lifetime repair policy that follows the firearm rather than the first owner.
This suits an owner who already understands what a Judge is for and wants to shoot it better. A dot on a short-barrelled revolver is a genuine accuracy upgrade, particularly past ten yards where the fixed sights on this class of gun start to run out of precision. It is also a sensible pick for anyone whose close vision has made iron sights harder work than they used to be.
