Description

A-Zoom 25 ACP Snap Caps are machined aluminum dummy rounds in 25 ACP, five to a pack. Almost every pistol chambered for this cartridge is a small, old, tightly fitted pocket gun, and those are exactly the guns where dry firing on an empty chamber breaks something.
How A-Zoom 25 ACP Snap Caps Are Built
Each round is CNC machined from solid aluminum billet to the exact dimensions of a loaded cartridge and hard anodized. One piece, no separate case head, no plastic body. On a cartridge this small there is very little material for a two-piece dummy to hold onto, which is why a machined solid is the only sensible approach.
The primer end carries a proprietary polymer cushion instead of a live primer, rated by A-Zoom past three thousand strikes. Small pocket pistols often use slender firing pins in hard-to-source configurations, and that cushion is what keeps them intact.
Because A-Zoom 25 ACP Snap Caps are dimensionally correct, they feed from a magazine and extract like real ammunition rather than rattling around telling you nothing useful about the pistol.
Why Pocket Pistols Need Them Most
25 ACP guns are mostly Baby Brownings, Colt Vest Pockets, Beretta 950s, Ravens and similar small semi-autos, many of them decades old. Firing pins for those are a specialist purchase if they are available at all, and dropping a striker on an empty chamber is the fastest way to need one.
Five rounds also fills most 25 ACP magazines, which hold six or seven. That is enough to run the whole cycle by hand and confirm the magazine still feeds, the extractor still grabs and the slide still goes into battery, all of which are worth knowing on a pistol that spends its life in a drawer.

Field Notes
Old magazines are the usual culprit when a pocket 25 stops working, and A-Zoom 25 ACP Snap Caps are the cheapest way to sort a good magazine from a tired one without buying ammunition for a cartridge that is not especially cheap any more.
They are also useful for safe storage and display. A magazine of obviously inert dummies keeps a collectible pistol functional-looking without anything live in the gun.
The polymer cushion is a consumable. When the face is deeply cratered and no longer rebounds, retire that round rather than continuing to strike a dead cushion.
One practical note: aluminum dummies weigh noticeably less than loaded 25 ACP cartridges, so a full magazine will not feel like a loaded one. That is irrelevant for function checks but worth knowing if you are used to judging by weight.
Working with other pocket calibers? The line also covers 32 ACP and 45 Auto. Construction details are published by A-Zoom.
For collectors and anyone keeping a pocket 25 running, A-Zoom 25 ACP Snap Caps are cheap insurance on parts that are hard to replace. MAG5 Firearms stocks them as manufacturer item PA15152 in the five pack.
