Description
The CCI 22 WMR 30gr V-Max load pairs a 30 grain Hornady V-Max polymer-tipped bullet with reliable CCI priming for fast, flat-shooting varmint performance. At a rated 2200 feet per second, it extends the practical range of a .22 Magnum rifle, and the polymer tip drives into the bullet on impact to start explosive expansion. It is a top choice for prairie dogs, ground squirrels, crows and other small varmints.
Why Choose the CCI 22 WMR 30gr V-Max
- 30 grain Hornady V-Max polymer-tipped bullet
- Rated 2200 fps muzzle velocity
- Flat trajectory for longer rimfire shots
- Explosive expansion on impact
- 50 rounds per box, CCI 0073
Built for Varmint Control
- Polymer tip improves accuracy and wind resistance
- Rapid expansion for decisive hits
- Reliable CCI priming for consistent ignition
- Fits any rifle or handgun chambered for .22 WMR
Lighter bullets can shift point of impact compared with 40 grain .22 Magnum loads, so zero your scope with this load before heading out and practice at several distances to learn your holdover. Watch the wind on longer shots, and use a bipod or shooting sticks for steady holds.
Rimfire bullets can travel well over a mile, so always confirm a safe backstop before taking any shot. Clean your bore periodically, since fast jacketed bullets can build copper fouling. CCI has built rimfire ammunition in Lewiston, Idaho for decades and is known for consistent quality.
Most bolt-action, lever-action and semi-auto .22 Magnum rifles shoot this load well, but test it in your own firearm to confirm accuracy before a big day in the field.
The .22 Magnum sits between the .22 LR and centerfire varmint rounds, offering noticeably more reach and energy than a standard rimfire while keeping noise and recoil low. With a lighter polymer-tipped bullet at 2200 fps, this load pushes that advantage further and is a favorite for pasture and dog town shooting, where targets are small and distances can stretch.
A typical varmint outing can go through several boxes, so many hunters buy this load in quantity and use the same lot all season for consistent point of impact. Store the ammunition in a cool, dry place to protect the polymer tips and keep performance uniform from box to box.

Why Varmint Hunters Choose 22 WMR V-Max
The 22 wmr v-max takes the .22 Magnum a step further by using a lighter, polymer-tipped bullet at higher speed. That flattens the trajectory, so hits come easier on small targets at longer distances. Many hunters zero at 100 yards and hold dead-on for most shots inside about 125 yards.
A 22 mag polymer tip bullet does two jobs at once: it streamlines the bullet for better accuracy and it starts expansion instantly on impact. As 22 magnum varmint ammo, that combination means fast, decisive hits and less chance of an animal escaping into a burrow.
Because the bullet expands so violently, this load is best for varmints rather than small game you plan to eat.
Prairie dog hunters, farmers, ranchers and anyone dealing with small burrowing pests will get flat-shooting, dependable performance from this 50-round box. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for .22 WMR, know what is beyond your target, and follow all federal, state and local hunting laws.
