Description

Aguila 25 Auto 50gr FMJ exists because people still own 25 ACP pistols and somebody has to keep feeding them. Fifty rounds of brass-cased, boxer-primed 50 grain full metal jacket at 755 fps, which is what the cartridge has always been and all it has ever pretended to be.
What Aguila 25 Auto 50gr FMJ Is For
The 25 ACP was designed by John Browning in 1905 for tiny blowback pocket pistols, and the ammunition has barely changed since. A 50 grain jacketed bullet at around 750 fps produces roughly 63 foot-pounds at the muzzle, which is modest by any standard and is the honest reality of the cartridge.
What it does offer is a centerfire primer in a cartridge small enough for pistols the size of a deck of cards. Rimfire cartridges in that role have a meaningfully higher failure-to-fire rate, which is the original argument for 25 ACP and still the only one that matters.
Aguila 25 Auto 50gr FMJ is loaded by Industrias Tecnos in Cuernavaca, Mexico on reloadable brass with boxer primers. Availability is the practical issue with this cartridge, and Aguila is one of the few makers still producing it in quantity.
Specifications
Chattanooga Shooting Supplies lists 755 fps and 63 ft-lbs for this load, and the arithmetic reconciles exactly for a 50 grain bullet. That is standard 25 ACP performance and matches what the pistols were designed around.
Full metal jacket is the right bullet here. At 755 fps a hollow point has nowhere near enough velocity to expand reliably, so it would simply be a bullet with a hole in the nose and less penetration. A round nose FMJ feeds well in the small blowback actions these cartridges live in and penetrates as much as the cartridge is capable of.

Field Notes
Be realistic about the cartridge. 25 ACP is a last-ditch, deep-concealment option and nothing more. Anyone choosing a carry gun today has far better choices in 380 and 9mm; the case for 25 ACP is almost always that someone already owns the pistol.
Old pistols need old-pistol care. Many 25 ACP guns are decades old with worn recoil springs and tired magazines. Function check with Aguila 25 Auto 50gr FMJ before trusting the gun, and replace the recoil spring if the slide feels slack.
Do not dry fire these pistols on an empty chamber. Firing pins for Baby Brownings, Colt Vest Pockets and Ravens are a specialist purchase if they are available at all.
Practising with a pocket 25? A-Zoom 25 ACP snap caps let you dry fire and function check without risking the firing pin, and 32 ACP snap caps cover the next size up. Company background is published by Aguila Ammunition.
For anyone keeping a vintage pocket pistol fed, Aguila 25 Auto 50gr FMJ is dependable and actually available. MAG5 Firearms stocks it in the 50 round box, manufacturer item 1E252110.
