Description
The Shadow Systems MR920 Foundation 9mm is a compact 9mm striker fired pistol with a 4 inch barrel, a Foundation Series optic ready slide and a black finish. The MR920 is a feature-packed, compact-sized pistol that is designed to work with existing G19 holsters, magazines, and gear. The MR920s frame features configurable ergonomics.
Shadow Systems MR920 Foundation 9mm Overview
Interchangeable backstraps allow shooters to adjust the grip angle to fit their natural point of aim. An extended beavertail and aggressive trigger guard undercut work to dramatically reduce recoil and increase controllability. The grip texture is aggressive enough to keep the gun firmly in the shooters grip without being uncomfortable for daily wear. The match-grade barrel is conventionally rifled and spiral-fluted to improve evacuation of debris. The drop-safe, flat-faced aluminum trigger has a 4.5-5.0 lbs. The optic cut on the MR920 can accommodate most major brands of RDS optics directly mounted to the slide, without intervening plates or adapters.
The 9mm Advantage
The 9mm Luger is the most popular handgun cartridge in the world. It offers manageable recoil, high magazine capacity and a huge selection of affordable practice ammunition and proven defensive hollow points.
Built for Carry and Duty
A modern semi-automatic pistol gives you fast follow up shots, good capacity and simple manual of arms. Practice drawing from a quality holster and confirm reliability with your chosen ammunition before you carry it.
Sights and Optics
Many current pistols accept a red dot sight, which speeds target acquisition and helps shooters with aging eyes. Iron sights remain the backup and should be checked for zero after any optic is installed.
Care and Maintenance
Field strip the pistol after each range session, clean the barrel and breech face, and apply a few drops of quality lubricant to the slide rails and barrel hood. Check sight and optic screws periodically and use thread locker when mounting a red dot. Store the handgun unloaded in a locked safe or lockbox away from children.
Choosing Ammunition
Use affordable full metal jacket loads for practice and premium jacketed hollow points for defense. Fire a few hundred rounds, including a couple of boxes of your carry load, to confirm reliable feeding before you depend on it. Use +P ammunition only if the maker approves it for your model.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, a weapon light, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out a handgun purchase.
Practice and Training
Regular practice builds confidence and safe handling. Start at close range, focus on sight alignment and a smooth trigger press, and work back as your groups tighten. Dry fire with snap caps at home to improve your trigger control between range trips.
Choosing Ammunition
Try several brands and bullet weights to see what feeds reliably and groups best in your handgun. Use quality full metal jacket loads for practice and proven hollow points for defense, and confirm reliable function with your defensive load before carrying it.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the barrel, slide or cylinder and frame after shooting, apply a light coat of quality lubricant to moving parts, and store the handgun unloaded in a locked case or safe away from children.
Safe Storage
Store handguns unloaded in a locked safe, lockbox or with a cable lock, and keep ammunition separate when children are in the home. Quick access safes keep a defensive handgun secure but available. Teach everyone in the household basic firearm safety rules.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out any handgun purchase. For defensive use, add a weapon light and practice drawing safely from your holster with an unloaded gun before carrying.
