Description
The Sauer 100 Silver XT is a distributor special run of the Sauer 100 in 6.5 Creedmoor, model 80118096. It combines a stainless-colored Ceratech (Cerakote) barreled action with an H-S Precision synthetic stock in black with red webbing. The store feed lists it as the 100 Ceratech; distributors sell the same UPC as the Silver XT. It carries 5+1 rounds in a detachable double-stack magazine behind a 22 inch barrel.
Sauer 100 Silver XT 6.5 Creedmoor Overview
The Sauer 100 is the brand’s value line, built in Isny, Germany, around a three-lug bolt with a 60 degree throw and a cold hammer-forged barrel. On this version the metal is coated in a silver Cerakote that resists rust and abrasion far better than bluing, a real advantage for wet-weather hunting. The H-S Precision stock is made from fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon over an aluminum bedding block, so it stays stable when temperature and humidity change.
Trigger, Safety and Bolt
The adjustable single-stage trigger can be set from about 2.2 to 4.2 pounds. A three-position safety lets you lock the bolt, unlock it to unload with the safety on, or fire. The short 60 degree bolt lift clears a large scope eyepiece and helps with quick follow-up shots. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optic bases.
Why the H-S Precision Stock
Factory polymer stocks can flex enough to shift point of impact, especially with a bipod or sling under tension. The H-S Precision stock is much stiffer, and the built-in bedding block means the action sits on aluminum rather than plastic. The trade-off is a little more weight than the standard Sauer Ergo Max stock and a vertical, field-style grip rather than a target pistol grip.
6.5 Creedmoor Performance
The 6.5 Creedmoor offers mild recoil, high ballistic coefficient bullets and excellent factory match and hunting ammunition. It is a strong choice for deer, pronghorn and black bear at sensible ranges and for steel targets well past 600 yards. For elk, choose a premium bonded or monolithic bullet and keep shots within your skill. Ammunition is widely available and reasonably priced.
Finish and Care
Cerakote is tough but not indestructible. Clean the bore normally, wipe the metal down after rain, and avoid harsh abrasive cleaners on the coating. The red-webbed stock is easy to spot in a gun case or blind, which some hunters like and others will want to cover with a sock or sling sleeve. Sauer advertises sub-MOA accuracy for the 100 series with good ammunition.
Special Run Notes
This configuration was produced as a distributor special run, so spare parts specific to the finish may be harder to source than for standard models, although magazines and internal parts are shared with the Sauer 100 line. If the threaded or unthreaded muzzle matters to your plans, confirm it on delivery, because distributor listings for this model do not state a thread pitch.
State Laws and Ownership
Bolt-action hunting rifles are legal in most states, but some states and localities restrict threaded barrels, require specific hunting calibers or limit suppressor use. Hunting regulations also vary by species and season. The 6.5 Creedmoor is legal for deer and bear in Pennsylvania during rifle seasons. Check your state and local rules before you order.
