Built for Waterfowl Hunting
This load puts 1-1/4 oz of #3 steel shot in a 3 inch 12 Gauge shell, a non-toxic combination aimed at ducks and geese.
Federal rules require non-toxic shot for waterfowl hunting in the United States. Steel, bismuth and tungsten-based shot each have different densities, which affects pattern, range and the choke you should use.
Waterfowl hunting is hard on ammunition, with rain, mud and cold. Kent Cartridge 12ga 3in 3 Shot 100 Pack is built for those conditions, but always pattern it through your shotgun and choke before opening day.

Waterfowl Hunting Tips
Use Kent Cartridge 12ga 3in 3 Shot 100 Pack only in shotguns chambered for 3 inch or longer 12 Gauge shells.
Check your choke manufacturer’s guidance before shooting steel shot through tight or older chokes.
Keep shots within the range you have patterned; most waterfowl are taken inside 40 yards.
Follow federal and state rules for shot type, plugs and bag limits.
Kent Cartridge 12ga 3in 3 Shot 100 Pack is a rugged choice for shooters who want a ready-made waterfowl load from a known maker.
Shot size
Smaller shot sizes give denser patterns for decoying ducks, while larger shot carries more energy for geese and longer shots.
Older shotguns
Some older shotguns and fixed chokes are not designed for steel shot. Have older guns checked before shooting steel loads.
Cold weather
Keep shells dry in a waterproof bag and wipe down your shotgun after each hunt.
Reading the box
The box lists the gauge, shell length, shot charge and shot size. Always match the shell to the gauge and chamber length stamped on your firearm, and never fire ammunition that is not specified for your firearm.
About Kent Cartridge
Kent Cartridge 12ga 3in 3 Shot 100 Pack comes from Kent Cartridge, and the specifications listed here follow the maker’s and our distributor’s published data for this item. Compare loads by shot size, shot charge and velocity to find the best fit for your firearm.
Buying the right amount
When you find a load that performs well, buy enough for practice and the full season at once. Ammunition from the same lot tends to perform the same, which keeps your results consistent.
Safety first
Always treat every firearm as loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Wear eye and ear protection every time you shoot.
Understanding shot size
Smaller shot numbers mean larger pellets. Larger pellets carry more energy at distance but give fewer pellets in the pattern, while smaller pellets fill the pattern but lose energy sooner. Match the shot size to the game and the distance.
Choosing the right load
Start with the job you need the ammunition to do, whether that is hunting, target shooting or practice. Then match the load to that job, and finally test a few boxes in your own firearm, because every barrel has its preferences.
