Description

The Shadow Systems DR920 Elite Optic 9mm is a Shadow Systems DR920 Elite 9mm full size pistol with a black frame, black Elite slide and a black unthreaded barrel. The DR920 is Shadow Systems’ full-size duty pistol, sized like a Glock 17, with a 4.5 inch barrel and 17+1 capacity. This listing is UPC 810013432640.

Shadow Systems DR920 Elite Optic 9mm Overview

Shadow Systems builds its pistols in Texas around a Glock-compatible internal design, then adds the features that serious shooters usually pay for as upgrades. The frame sits low in the hand with an extended beavertail, a recoil control ledge, interchangeable backstraps to adjust grip angle and aggressive texturing. The Elite slide adds front, rear and top directional serrations, a lightening window cut and Shadow Systems’ patented multi-footprint optic mounting system, so most popular red dots mount directly without adapter plates.

5 inch match-grade barrel is black and unthreaded, and the longer sight radius and full grip make the DR920 easy to shoot fast and accurately. The pistol ships with 17-round magazines.

Glock Compatible

Because the DR920 shares many internal parts and magazine compatibility with Glock pistols, spare magazines, holsters in many cases, and aftermarket parts are easy to find. Magazines are the same pattern used by the comparable Glock models.

Optic Ready

The multi-footprint optic cut accepts many common red dots directly. Mounting a dot low on the slide lets you co-witness with the sights, and a red dot makes it easier to keep both eyes open and focus on the target. Optic not included.

Trigger and Controls

Shadow Systems uses a flat-faced trigger with a clean break and a short reset. The slide stop and magazine release are extended slightly for easier use without getting in the way in a holster.

Holsters and Carry

The DR920 is a full-size pistol, best suited to duty-style carry, open carry, competition and home defense. Many holster makers offer DR920 specific holsters, including optic-cut and light-bearing versions.

Price and Value

A Shadow Systems pistol costs more than a stock Glock, but it includes upgrades like a match barrel, optic cut, upgraded sights and frame work that would cost more to add separately.

State Laws

Magazine capacity and handgun roster laws vary by state. Check your state and local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer handguns.
