Tisas 1911 Night Stalker 45 ACP 5 Grey Overview
Tisas builds the Night Stalker on its forged frame and slide with a cold hammer forged barrel and Colt Series 70 style internals, so there is no firing pin safety to complicate the trigger.
Out of the box it has the upgrades most 1911 owners add later: an integrated Picatinny rail for a light, a skeletonized hammer, an SF trigger, an SF style ambidextrous thumb safety, an extended beavertail grip safety, front strap checkering, a contoured undercut trigger guard, a lowered and flared ejection port, a Clark/Para style ramp cut barrel, rear slide cocking serrations, an SF machined mainspring housing and machined aluminum grips. Sights are a Novak-style U-notch rear with a tritium front. It weighs about 36 ounces.
Night Sights for Real Use
The tritium front sight glows in low light, and the U-notch rear frames it quickly. Add a weapon light to the rail and the Night Stalker is well suited to home defense.
A Railed 1911 at a Fair Price
Tisas has earned a strong reputation for building forged-steel 1911s with quality parts at a price well below most American makers. Resale value is lower than the big legacy brands, but the features per dollar are hard to beat.
Holsters
Because it has a full-length dust cover rail, you need a holster cut for a railed Government-size 1911. Light-bearing holsters are widely available for 1911s with common lights.
1911 Magazine Tips
Quality magazines are the key to a reliable 1911. Use the factory magazines or proven aftermarket 8-round magazines, and replace magazines whose feed lips or springs are worn before blaming the gun.
Carry Condition
Like any 1911, the Night Stalker is designed to be carried cocked and locked: a round chambered, hammer cocked and thumb safety engaged. The ambidextrous safety makes that easier for left-handed shooters.
State Laws
Handgun laws vary by state. Check your local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer handguns.
Care and Maintenance
Field strip the pistol after each range session, clean the barrel and breech face, and apply a few drops of quality lubricant to the slide rails and barrel hood. Check sight and optic screws periodically and use thread locker when mounting a red dot. Store the handgun unloaded in a locked safe or lockbox away from children.
Choosing Ammunition
Use affordable full metal jacket loads for practice and premium jacketed hollow points for defense. Fire a few hundred rounds, including a couple of boxes of your carry load, to confirm reliable feeding before you depend on it. Use +P ammunition only if the maker approves it for your model.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, a weapon light, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out a handgun purchase.
