Description
The Grand Power Stribog SP9A3 9mm 8 FDE is Grand Power’s third-generation Stribog 9mm pistol in Flat Dark Earth, with an 8 inch threaded barrel, a roller-delayed blowback action and three 30-round magazines. Built in Slovakia, the Stribog has become one of the most popular pistol caliber carbines and large-format pistols for its smooth recoil and reliability. This listing is UPC 197892004770.
Grand Power Stribog SP9A3 9mm 8 FDE Overview
The A3 generation uses a roller-delayed blowback system, which slows the bolt’s rearward travel for a noticeably softer, flatter recoil impulse than a straight blowback 9mm. The upper is aluminum with a full-length Picatinny top rail, an M-LOK handguard and a bottom Picatinny rail, and the polymer lower and grip are finished in FDE. A non-reciprocating side charging handle can be used with either hand, flip-up front and rear sights come standard, and the 8 inch barrel is threaded and capped with a thread protector. The pistol weighs about 5.1 pounds without a magazine.
Roller Delayed Recoil
Shooters often compare the SP9A3 to roller-delayed designs costing far more. The delay keeps the muzzle flatter and makes fast follow-up shots easier, and it tends to run reliably across a wide range of 9mm loads, from light target ammo to defensive hollow points.
Magazines
Three 30-round Stribog magazines are included. The SP9A3 uses Grand Power’s own magazine pattern, so stick with Stribog-compatible magazines. Several states limit magazine capacity, so check your local laws.
Optics and Accessories
The top rail takes any red dot, and the M-LOK slots and bottom rail accept a light, handstop or sling mount. A red dot with a lower third co-witness is a popular setup with the factory flip sights.
Stay Legal With Pistols
This is a pistol. Adding a shoulder stock to a pistol with a barrel under 16 inches creates a short-barreled rifle, and adding a vertical foregrip creates an AOW. Both require ATF approval first. Suppressors are NFA items that need an approved ATF Form 4, and MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items.
State Laws
Some states restrict pistols of this type, threaded barrels or magazines over 10 rounds, and Zanders notes it cannot ship this model to certain states. Check your state and local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer it.
Care and Maintenance
Field strip the pistol after each range session, clean the barrel and breech face, and apply a few drops of quality lubricant to the slide rails and barrel hood. Check sight and optic screws periodically and use thread locker when mounting a red dot. Store the handgun unloaded in a locked safe or lockbox away from children.
Choosing Ammunition
Use affordable full metal jacket loads for practice and premium jacketed hollow points for defense. Fire a few hundred rounds, including a couple of boxes of your carry load, to confirm reliable feeding before you depend on it. Use +P ammunition only if the maker approves it for your model.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, a weapon light, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out a handgun purchase.
